Apparently, in addition to the English Premier League team Aston Villa, Real Betis (who won promotion back to the Primera División last season) are interested in signing Fortuna central defender Assani Lukimya-Mulongoti. It is well known that the contract of the 6'3" stopper expires on the 30th June, and Fortuna's management have been negotiating with the Congolese defender's advisers since last August to try and keep him on the Rhine.

Fortuna are pissing the 2.Liga at the moment, if I remember correctly they've only lost one game in the league all season. Lukimya's the pick of the bunch from their defence and he certainly looks the most able to make the step up to the 1.Liga if Fortuna win promotion (especially considering he's currently having to play alongside one ex-Borussia left back in Johannes van den Bergh and one loaned-out Borussia right back in Tobias Levels who are both, well, a bit shite to be honest).

The Premier League would be a hell of a jump, though at least Lukimya's got the physicality for it. He's 25 years old, holds German citizenship and has been capped a few times for DR Congo (his debut was a friendly against Togo back in 2008). As he's out of contract come July, he could be worth a cheap punt as cover if/when we lose the likes of Collins or Cuéllar.

makoun i can understand you being annoyed about, beye and djemba were both incredibly poor players and should never have been signed in the first place though

plus i hear that the makoun loan was at his request - he signed becuase he wanted o work with houllier and once houllier was gone he wanted out so it was never meant to be...

so all in all your point in mute
