Would people not be worried if the French wanted rid of him quick sharp?

They dont want to lose him because he is doing a good job!

I can't think of any other situation where a new manager has carried on in his old role for a few weeks. It's unbelievable.

It's not the same appointment as taking a manager from another club.....Do you understand that? Did you not hear the part about the French Law?

I read it, then read the bit below which says there is no such law, so unlucky sunshine.

Well Houllier would know better than you or I...I can't remember if he infact did say French Law or it's something being passed about on these forums, but if he did it must be true or he wouldn't be coming out with that to the media.

You or I don't know what sort of contract he has with the FFF.

What is it with people on this site calling people sunshine? Do you think of me as a ray of light?

I didnt want him in the begining and now i just hate the clearing in the woods ... We'r the fcukin Villa FFS Not fcukin Hartlepool united!

Who dose he think he is to string us out like this?..

More fool to the micky mouse board... Go Back to disneyland!

5 weeks to parade a bloke under contract some place else and that hasnt even signed... Couldnt Run A Bath!..

So in a less 'personal' or 'abusive' way why is it you hate Houllier and why is he a "clearing in the woods" what has he done wrong other than having the respect to hounour pre-exsiting agreements with the FFF and not leave them in a lurch like a certain former manager? Exactly how is he 'stringing' us out? is this a clever little game he is playing?

And the last couple of points about "micky mouse board" and "couldn't run a bath" are frankly disrespectful and without substance. Why are they mickey mouse? I would have more respect for you if you were able to put a reasoned argument as to why think Houllier is a word removed (god help him when he actually does something wrong)

Lets start with his quotes by describing his new team as belonging 'between seventh and 12th in the Premier League' - even though O'Neill took them to three successive sixth-placed finishes - adding: 'Villa is not a club on the same level as Liverpool.',,,

I like others dont wanna hear that shit Especially, When i have just shelled out hard earned, hard to come by cash on the next 6 games in a row!

**** liverpool what they got to do with the villa managers job?.. If you still got the hard on for them then go play on the M62...

The day When mon left GH was not on anybodys top 10 wish list of any villa fan to take over and your muggin yourself off if you say so!

As for the board well where do you start in the last 2 months?.. The bastards have crushed poor kevin mac, The fcukers gagged him to not speaking out about the managers job so they didnt have to spen money till jan, now the bloke gets stick for saying he hadnt made his mind up when he was gagged all along.

Funny how he was aloud to speake about it on aug 2nd!

I really hope and pray that it takes the full 3 months and kevin mac wins every fcukin game!

"Why am I here? I had offers from other countries, as you can imagine," he said. "But I like to do things as a team, whether at Liverpool, Lyon or Paris [saint-Germain], and here I feel that we're going to be in this together.

"There's a vision of gradual progress and improvement. We won't achieve that overnight. The aim, of course, is Europe, places of honour, and silverware. Everybody's talking about the Champions League, but I say let's take it one step at a time. What we want to do is make the best of the squad we have. I think the team will improve in the long run.

"I've done a bit of homework and I've yet to meet anyone who says it's not a good club. Let's make it a great club."

His predecessor, it was suggested, had failed in the mission to propel Villa into the top four. "Well, we're in the top four now," Houllier responded with a smile, referring to a league table which shows them in fourth place after three matches, behind Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal, and nine places ahead of his old club. "If we keep that up, I'll be very happy."

Yeah the above quotes from yesterday's Press conference, certainly make him look a right word removed........really???

He mentioned Liverpool in a past tense and said one of his immediate priorities was to see them defeated at VP, harldy makes him a word removed does it?

As for "top 10 wish lists" I personally didn't compile one, however you're right he didn't spring to mind as a candidate, clearly makes him a word removed

As for 'crushing' poor KMac, really? you've spoken to him then? and how do you know he was gagged? is that YOUR opinion or fact??

And finally you want the uncertainty to carry on for another 3 months? why? and presumably you wanted KMac to get the job then? If I had the time or inclination I would read through some of your posts and no doubt find a few rants saying "KMac is shit and not the man etc" after the Newcastle and Vienna game.

As for the "mickey mouse" and "disney land" comments, I prefer to trust the board as I believe they have earnt that trust over the last 4 years. Each to their own.

For a start where in my post have i used the word word removed?.. I guess just because youve got hairs round your mouth there is no need to talk like a word removed!

You can read through as many post of mine as you like and you will see i have never once said a bad thing about kevin mac,

Yes i wanted kevin mac as manager, Im not itk but it was made clear by someone that is, that a big name was not gonna happen, so for that reason i wanted to stick with KM rather than some punt on a bloke thats been out the game for 6-7 years and carrys a health warning! My beef is with the board about the whole handling of it all not the team, I will be there on monday night in the probably pissing down of rain singing my heart out for the lads!...

This is the last time I will interact with you, as without being 'personal' I don't agree with anything you say. As for calling him a word removed you used "word removed" which I am lead to believe is the filter for word removed or T**t my bad if it isn't, however I think i'm right. Given that, I think you're harsh on GH for no valid reason and you go on to admit your beef is with the board (again I don't see why)

Let's just leave it their as I have no desire to squabble with you as I have a life away from this board. Thanks for saying I'm talking like a word removed though. Wonder if the mods will delete that as they did mine for calling you an idiot? word removed.......idiot. I know which one I think is more abusive.

I think you should go to spec savers mate... thanks for coming, Have a nice day

i know he was bound to

but Thompson is massively bigging him up on Soccer Saturday saying hes taking over a better team than he did at liverpool and he will want to use our attacking players as much as possible

This is what I was about to post.

Its a tricky situation that he can't come straight away, but I personally feel we've made a good appointment.

GH is a very well connected man. He knows the game, he knows European and world football, and is very well respected throughout the footballing world.

Obviously we want him to take over straight away, otherwise why would we appoint him straight away? Without appointing him, the fans would get more restless and start shouting 'why havent we appointed a manager yet?'

Im slightly worried at the fact he hasn't been able to convince someone to come in as his number 2 yet, but again, if it takes time for him to bring in the right man, then so be it.

Lets just hope KMac can do enough while we wait for GH to arrive. Then we can think about who he might bring in during January and see how he can influence and build the future of Aston Villa.

Fair play to Phil Thompson. Spoke passionately about GH and Villa as a club. Almost like listening to one of us talking our own club up.

Shame he isn't coming after the way he spoke about us and the obvious passion he has for GH

I hope people just heard Thommo on SSN.

I was thinking... is he having second thoughts about joining his ol pal?

TBF it's not the 1st time I've heard PT say positive things about us.

What came over the most from Houllier's PC was his enthusiasim for taking up the challenge. We haven't had that up to now. MON looked deflated before the season started.....KMac dithered about the job..you could tell GH can't wait to get stuck in.. and that will be good for the squad.

I think if this works out GH will be at Villa for a very long time...he'll be manager but maybe step aside to become technical director.

They did a bit of a timeline of GH's career and to be perfectly honest he's had a very good record. Only that slip up at the end of his Liverpool time caused him his job but looking at his league position finishes and the fact he built a very good squad there is exciting for us. It will be a challenge for him but then it will be a challenge for any manager that have's come in so we should look at the positives and keep the faith! :thumb:

I look forward to seeing our new style of play too. Houllier experienced Champions League football so it's fair to say he knows a few ways.

Sure did, despite what people said on here I really wanted Thommo as no2 here. I've always liked him and admire the job he did after houllier had the heart attack.

Damn, I missed it. Do you think anybody might have recorded it?

Do you even know what was questions were asked by the French press for him to talk about Liverpool? I'll answer that one for you...You don't.

Actually we do. No question was asked, it was part of the Houllier pre-amble, before any questions were asked. Its also perfectly well documented on the video on the BBC website on the link I used a few posts ago.
