  1. Zlatan. Now please. No other options to partner Rudy will do. Spend the rest of our transfer budget on making Alan Hutton the greatest ever player aswell.
  2. My wife is not overly chuffed this has happened on our anniversary, but what the heck.
  3. Well this is excellent! Welcome Dr Xia.
  4. Jelly? You can't handle my jelly? Beyonce? She's married to Jay-Z.... we're getting bought out by Jay-Z?!?!?!?!
  5. If this is legit (and I mean 'if'), do you think there's any link to the fact the takeover fell through? Do you think Delph may have been given assurances that we'd be sold and we could improve the squad? As the takeover has fallen through, and with Bentekke seemingly off, he's maybe thought "stuff it, I'm off too". Obviously I hope its fake.
  6. I blame myself. I'm not from Birmingham, have no association to the city, no family have ever lived there. I chose to follow Villa when I was a kid. I'm now married to a Liverpool fan who's family are all Liverpool fans and actual Scousers. Every day I have to listen to them talking about challenging the top 4 / winning the league, seeing them win football matches, while we get served the tripe we've been given for the last 5 years and face the very real prospect of being relegated. I'm originally from the north east, so I guess my Newcastle supporting mates are already sharpening their knives for the inevitable. I'm just fed up with it all to be honest. Time to let go. Not let it affect me anymore. It's just football. Oh, and I also blame Lerner for not selling when MON walked out.
  7. The longer he stays, the less likely he is to work in the Premier League again. Ultimately its not working. Managers, like players, have a glass ceiling in terms of ability. Look at Mick McCarthy. Excellent Championship manager, but not cut out for the Premier League. Lambert just isn't cut out for Premier League management. He should've had the balls to walk away in the summer and go to Celtic, but now we're seemingly stuck with him for god knows how long cos RL won't sack him. I'm losing count of the amount of records he has to break before RL decides enough is enough. As a scout, he's decent. As a manager, he's awful. I don't think we can keep talking about 'give him til X' anymore. He's had more than enough time, (and money), and its just not happening. Of course its a risk getting a new manager, but its a risk worth taking, cos lets face it, its take a risk or keep putting up with the utter drivel Lambert is gonna keep serving up every week.
  8. But he's got 'Premier league experience' that quality some fans clamour for in signings and managers.... Ability is what counts, not Premier League experience. Awful player. He's the sort of player who's destined for a spell at Sunderland then Wigan (as long as we're not stupid enough to buy him).
  9. Lets pretend, lets pretend, lets pretend we scored a goal... HUUURRRAAAYYYY!
  10. Agreed I think we were in for Colback to play at left back.. Jonathan Parr, Jordan Spence.. of course there is always the possible return of Liam Ridgewell who can play on either side if I remember correctly. A few more surely are about, John Arne Riise is getting on a bit but he just left Fulham I think. Colback is off to Newcastle. Yup hence the 'were' in past tense. £50k a week better off spent elsewhere! My bad. Obviously didn't read that properly.

  12. I know we've not got much / any cash to spend, but I wouldn't be against us signing Jordan Mutch and Gary Hooper. Mutch looks like a cracking little player, and if it's true that he's available for £1.5m, that's a bargain. As for Hooper, yeah it's another striker, but he's got good movement off the ball so would actually work quite well for us. I'm aware neither of these will happen, so I'm gonna pretend we're signing Adam Lallana to make me feel better.
  13. I don't actually think this is the worst signing Lambert has made since he's been here. However, ask me again at the end of the season when he's either a - not played, or b - made loads of errors that have sent us down.
  14. Hardly the most inspiring signing, I agree, but as others have already said, he's better than Baker / Clark. Plus most of us said we wanted another CB brought in. Will fill in when Vlaar is injured. Might even help Baker / Clark / Donacien with their development. Add to that, he's clearly on nowhere near the wages Lescott would've commanded, so overall,it's not actually 'that' bad a signing. Best case scenario, he does well in the games he plays and hadn't cost us a lot of money. Worst case scenario, it's another body in our small squad. Personally, I'd have preferred Hangelaand, but didn't he only get released today? Maybe we enquire and at the time Fulham wanted cash for him? Typical Villa luck if that's the case.
