2012 2.Bundesliga spreadsheet ready to go. Completely underwhelmed by some of the shite in that division :( Some decent sides there though. Hoping for an immediate return.

Dortmund and Mönchengladbach both vying for Central African* Republic defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa

* and by Central African I do of course mean French

Dortmund eye Yanga-Mbiwa

Agent says young defender likely to move to Germany

Borussia Dortmund are reported to have joined the chase for Montpellier star Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, with his agent claiming a German move is an option.

Borussia Monchengladbach are already firmly in the hunt for his signature, and now his agent has admitted he is much more likely to move to Germany rather than England.

Newcastle were reported to be leading the chase for the highly-rated 23-year-old but he has now admitted that Yanga-Mbiwa is unlikely to head to the Premier League.

"We haven't talked to Newcastle," his agent Tim Hagar told The Journal.

"It is not true that there has been an approach and he won't go to Newcastle. I don't know where he will be going but we have interested clubs in Germany.

"I think he will go to Germany - I don't know why Newcastle haven't followed up their interest."

Yanga-Mbiwa was called up to France's provisional squad for the European Championship but failed to make the final cut.

It has also been reported in France that Yanga-Mbiwa, along with fellow prized assets Younes Belhanda and Olivier Giroud, could yet opt to remain with the shock French champions for another 12 months.

Kaiserslautern have hired 46 year old Sturm Graz coach and ex-Kaiserslautern defender Franco Foda. He won the Austrian title in 2011 and the Austrian cup in 2010. He's been working at Sturm for 11 years as a coach in various capacities. Sounds like a good appointment to me.

Foda also brought Sebastian Prödl and Jakob Jantscher through the ranks at Sturm Graz, could be a very shrewd move.

No official word on Hoilett yet, but 'Gladbach have signed free-scoring Swedish U-19 striker Branimir Hrgota from Jönköping on a free.

Kaiserslautern sign imposing Ghana U-20 striker Kwame Nsor from relegated Ligue 2 outfit FC Metz on a free transfer. Nsor broke into the Metz side at the very end of the season, notching 2 goals in 6 games but couldn't help them avoid relegation.

Yeah saw that. Though we have lost Oliver Kirch to Borussia Dortmund :( If you're losing players to Dortmund, it's safe to say they are good players.

Meanwhile, Emanuel Pogatetz joins Wolfsburg from Hannover.

In lower-league news, Adrian Mrowiec leaves Heart of Midlothian for ambitious German Fourth Division side RB Leipzig. The article says the Red Bull backed 4th division side intend on winning the Bundesliga within 7 years, thanks to an £80m investment. They're not the same as VfB Leipzig who are now known as Lokomotive Leipzig and play in the 5th tier.

Bayern Munich have agreed a €13m fee with Vfl Wolfsburg for Mario Mandžukić. Schalke have cooled their interest in Rafael van der Vaart but have confirmed that Jurado is set to leave (with a return to Atlético Madrid a likely destination) and that they have had initial talks with free agent Tranquillo Barnetta.
