If I was to become a footballer through the ranks at Villa and I scored an equaliser in injury time against Brum, then there is a fair chance I would be doing more to the villa badge than just kissing it. In which case i think it is fine. But if it is not your boyhood team or a team you have been at for say 10 years then I think it's a bit pathetic. As the guy you quoted said, its nice to see a player if hes a local lad and supports the club doing it, as you know he means it. Agbonlahor is probably the only player we have that springs to mind that would qualify. But all too often these days, you get players doing it just to get the fans on side and it means nothing and all the club does is pay their wages. I was abit surprised to see that Gardner had scored though. Lifelong blues fan, yeah right. Some people switch teams like their shampoo these days. In some respects yes but what Adebayor did, for example, must have been thought out and not done in the heat of the moment like he said it was.
