Exiled Welsh Villan Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Just starting this with the 6 nations starting up over the coming weeks. Wales made a few suprise choices. Prydie, K.Phillips etc but keen to see how they get on.
villa89 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Its going to be an open enough 6 nations this year I think, Ireland and France will probably fight it out for the title. Can't see anyone doing a slam.
rjw63 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Would like to see England do well but I'm not hearing much in a good way about them
bickster Posted January 18, 2010 Moderator Posted January 18, 2010 Please if there are any fans of that northern monkey sport Touch Rugby, they can make their own topic (I'll change the title),
choffer Posted January 18, 2010 VT Supporter Posted January 18, 2010 Its going to be an open enough 6 nations this year I think Open in as much as all 5 teams will enjoy beating Scotland? It's not even started yet and I'm depressed
Exiled Welsh Villan Posted January 18, 2010 Author Posted January 18, 2010 From the form of the 2 Scottish sides this year, shouldnt they be looking at a good tournament? Do they have the level of injuries that England / Wales are complaining of? (I think Wales' are brought on themselves - regionalisation....)
EssexVilla Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Always like watching the 6 nations (shame it clashes with the football as football always wins) and hope England can do well and at least beat the French and Scots.
EssexVilla Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Also, is anyone else really looking forward to seeing France vs Ireland for the first time since the Henry incident (I know it is a different sport but surely some people in the crowd like both).

To be honest, I've been a bit fair-weather over the last couple of years so I've not been following progress too much. I probably know more about Welsh rugby at the moment with all the time I spend down there. I think I'm just being a bit of a dour Scot about it all. We've been poor for the last few years and every year we go into the 6 nations expecting a turnaround in fortunes only to be battling with Italy for the spoon. As ever, I'd expect one favourable shock result and a bunch of poor performances.
Stevo985 Posted January 18, 2010 VT Supporter Posted January 18, 2010 Any audacious predictions this season Chris?
leviramsey Posted January 19, 2010 VT Supporter Posted January 19, 2010 Good to see that the USA qualified for the 2011 World Cup and will be in a group with Australia, Ireland, and Italy. (my sig may or may not be adjusted to mention 11 September, 2011)
snowychap Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Any audacious predictions this season Chris? Naughty!
Exiled Welsh Villan Posted January 19, 2010 Author Posted January 19, 2010 Any audacious predictions this season Chris? Naughty! I've had a 1 in 2 record, which is significantly better than those who sit on the fence
villamark Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I think it will be Ireland or France to win it but no grand slam, but you never know. I have tickets for the England v Wales game, I was meant to be playing Neath at the Gnoll on that day but I think I will be still injured so may go to Twickers instead!.
Gringo Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Speaking of form.....qualifiers for european cup quarter finals Pool 1 winners – Munster Pool 2 winners – Biarritz Olympique Pool 3 winners – ASM Clermont Auvergne Pool 4 winners – Stade Français Paris Pool 5 winners – Toulouse Pool 6 winners – Leinster Pool 2 runners up – Ospreys Pool 1 runners up – Northampton Saints Four french, 2 irish, 1 welsh, 1 english. Obviously the french are running a lot of imports in their teams, but still a good showing.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Whoever wins the France v Ireland match in Paris will win the Six Nations.

Obviously the french are running a lot of imports in their teams, but still a good showing. Then again, the welsh may be down to zero. Nah - of course they won't be thrown out - if quins are allowed to compete after bloodgate - a deliberate attempt to deceive and gain advantage through deception, then accidently having an extra player on the pitch will only be punished by a little fine. A more amicable solution could be to replay the game
Santa_Rosa Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Really enjoyed that Ospreys game. Proper tense, hard fought stuff. Be interesting to see what comes out of 16 Playersgate or whatever it's being called. Quite enjoyed the fact that it was against Leicester though, who haven't exactly been strangers to a bit of cheating over the years. Neil Back against Munster in the final all those years ago springs to mind.
drat01 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 16 players on the pitch - game has to be replayed at best - Ospreys to be chucked out at worst. They cannot just blame the officials Ospreys should have known and avoided it
