I've seen reports that said he was dropped because the coach asked him to change his style of play (stop playing it out from the back) and Onana has refused. Which is understandable he's an Ajax product and has played this way for pretty much his whole career to date. So I think they have had a pretty big clash which is why he got dropped and now he is travelling back from Qatar apparently he wont play another game. Playing with Batshuayi, Witsel and two CBs that should be retired must be depressing for him.
