The hands on, from Unai is impressive, prompting all through the game....The idea, of him adapting from game to game, based on his interpretation, is also impressive.

How can you plan to stop a team, when you don't know how they are going to play.....So happy to have this guy on a long contract.

All the players, seem to know what they was doing in such a short space of time.....

Long way to go, but the early signs are so encouraging.

Not to take away from win, but that United were tired, too, and missing crucial talent. They couldn't match our intensity. Martinez looked uncharacteristically knackered. Europa schedule is brutal.  I think the cup tie is going to be harder, but shit, we're awesome.

I am looking forward to some consistency, not making any predictions, just want to see us improving and see where it takes us.

Ha ha, thanks! I truly believe that preparation is just as important as ability.  One without the other gets you only so far.  I agree with you that we have squad quality/trait issues which is now what Emery has to sort out but he can only see them when the players are playing as best as they can, that requires great coaching.

I think Emery’s level of detail is exactly what we need, what a midtable team needs to fight how tough the PL is.  Yesterday was fabulous, I still feel we have many bumps ahead though and it will test fans, but I hope Emery’s level of detail, planning and preparedness will get us to where we want to go in time.  Great coaching is the first step which he will do over the coming period, then let’s see what he can do with the squad both current and future players.  This team is still very fragile, it’ll take time but at least imo we have somebody who can get the best out of them.

I hope he doesn’t disappoint because I have high hopes in him but for now I’m still wildly celebrating yesterday and the hope for the future under him.

A magical afternoon, one of those moments we've been waiting for, for far too long. Sadly, since i've moved away from Brum getting to games is far harder so watched it on a stream which strangely had no commentry. 

Enough has been said about the players, the tactics, the manager, the ref etc

But, here's some stand out moments throughout the match for me and in no particular order

The Holte End played their part, along with the rest of the crowd. Great atmosphere. To all that were there take a bow 

- The Holte End singing 'you only live round the corner' made me chuckle

- Unai Emery on the touchline shouting out instructions and actively coaching through the game.With no commentry i could clearly here him when there was the odd quiet moment.

- The atmosphere, came over really well on TV. The crowd were amazing and come the last 5 mins or so raised the roof with the continuous singing.

- Singing to Ronaldo, 'you're going to cry in a minute' 

- It was one of those moments that the vast vast majority of the crowd stayed till after the final whistle to milk the occasion. Looked really good on TV.

- The Holte End looked amazing holding up the cards displaying our name, ASTON VILLA when the players walked out. Spine tingling.

- The final whistle and the togetherness of the team. They now have belief. 

 

A great day to be a Villa fan and the start of a new chapter.
