thabucks
I see Darius Vassell has now joined Wolves FT as academy forwards coach. https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2017/07/10/wolves-bring-in-sean-odriscoll-and-darius-vassell-in-academy-reshuffle/ Quote Also, Prosser was also thrilled to see ex-England international Vassell into a full-time role, following his work with the club over the past year on a part-time basis. “Darius has been with us for about 12 months on a part time basis working with one of the schoolboy age groups,” he said. “In that time he has built up a good rapport and shown an excellent manner when working with the players. “He is now joining us full-time as part of the Premier League’s BAME initiative looking to ensure that Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic Minority coaches are given sufficient opportunities within coaching. “Darius will work as a forwards coach across the academy age groups whilst also supporting a younger group as an age group coach. “It is very much a new role to us, to bring in a specialist coach, but we are very excited about what Darius has to offer.” “Again, it is some more great experience for our young players to be coached by someone who has played at the highest level both here and abroad, and also played many times for England. “He can share his experiences with all the players, including the forwards during the specific sessions. He is another great addition to the staff.” I would like to see more ex-villains join our backroom staff ( if they up to the task) as they know what it's like and what is required to progress through the ranks. On the other hand, he's quite small and can get knocked off the ball

Reivax_Villa
I wonder how much work is being put into our Academy. I have read that there have been some things done behind the scenes. Furthermore we want 6 academy players to be part of our first team squad this season. I read somewhere that Dortmund want £135 million for Dembele and an uncapped english player (Gray) was signed for £18.5 million. The prices are crazy at the moment and I would like to think that building from within would but us in a better place for the future. Hopefully this academy plays a key role in the philosophy of this football club
sir_gary_cahill
I agree with you Reivax_Villa, the academy can be proud this evening, it was a pleasure to watch them. As I've said many times on this site, these youngsters are the best group of youngsters I've seen

The OS is awful at the moment.
