If we’d signed Danny Drinkwater and Danny Welbeck in the Summer, people would be complaining... Drinkwater old, past it, no fire in his belly, wages too high. Welbeck injury prone, wages too high, could be a flop. But after seeing who’s played well this season, the same people wish we’d signed Ings (injury prone, high wages, could flop) and Cahill (33 years old, injury prone, hardly played for Chelsea, wanted £70k p/w on a minimum 2-year deal, might have no fire in his belly, could flop).
