The last 5 days on the death count is really low but it's saying incomplete data at the moment. Once that backfills and if it's not massively increased then it will have fallen off a cliff and it will be evidence of the vaccine making a big difference because there's no way the semi-lockdown alone could have that much of an effect. Sure, we can't affect how other countries are dealing with vaccinations but you'd expect most European countries to be on top of it by the summer. The gov are secretly planning to have every adult in the UK offered a vaccine by May now. So unless something really bad happens like another variant which existing vaccines don't work against at all, then I think the summer will see mass socialising. Where has that come from? I would be amazed if they could do that unless vaccine supply ramped up massively. They need to start giving out second shots in March, which will presumably have to match the same rate the first shots were going in so capacity to bring new people into the system is going to be small unless they get up to a million shots a day or something.
