No matter how powerful a country is it won't win a war just because it is next door. If you aren't wanted there you aren't wanted there. Plenty if examples of this around the world!

Yep, but i’m just talking about logistics. It’s the easiest scenario to manage (and they are shit at it).

When did it ever not look like Russia did the pipeline?

But yes more and more evidence is now in the public domain that the obvious perpetrator was the one that did it.

It didn't make total sense for the Russians to do it, because it would galvanise Europe into being less dependant on Russia's Gas, and therefore would screw themselves financially because they would be intentionally dropping their biggest market.

In hindsight it makes slightly more sense because China have taken up some of the capacity, but they seem to be buying it cheap, so, yeah, they did a brexit and shot their own feet.

You could say the same about the invasion of Ukraine - it was always going to create things that were against what Russia wanted - stronger NATO, divergence from trade with Russia, Sanctions and so on and so forth.

But those things (and the gas pipeline) are not why Russia did what they did and are doing. Putin doesn't care about that stuff.

Have to laugh at the Kremlin report.

It’s a terrorist attack and underlines their right to respond.

What are they going to do? Missile strike even more orphanages?

Think they might be lining up justification to take out Zelenski. Maybe they have him pinpointed.

My thought went to this and also that it might be something to give the western nations pause about giving Ukraine longer range weapons if they think they might use them to strike Russia itself.

If, and it's a big if, the Russians are telling the truth then either

a. The Ukrainians launched the drone from their own territory and it's travelled hundreds of miles without detection or without them being able to shoot it down

or...

b. There are Ukrainian operatives in or around Moscow.

Well it's interesting that this occurred as the big Z is visiting the newly Nato-fied Finland. Intriguing developments.

This has already happened a number of times. In fact one Ukrainian manufacturer of drones has put up a $1mil dollar prize in a competition to fly a drone into the Red Square parade on May 9th. He will be entering himself (but isn't eligible for the prize), he's already had a couple of drones of his own downed not far shy of Moscow.

Ah, you've shot at us with a drone that hit our flag!? How dare you, terrorist scum!

*clicks button sending a Kinzhal missile straight into an orphanage*

That'll teach those terrorists!

It's not a good look for Putin though.

From what I understand Russians only support strength and Putins big selling point is keeping them safe and secure.

If weapons start hitting The Kremlin it's surely going to bee seen negative on Putin? That's more than close to home.

Even makes you wonder if it's the start of an internal power struggle. Some power within Russia wanting to show Putin up as weak?

It’s either travelled hundreds of miles undetected, or it’s launched from within undetected.

Neither are a good look for Putin.
