I previously posted a photo of a three line trench system RUssia were building along the Crimean coast line, today the Mayor of Crimea has announced that they have started building concrete pill boxes along the entire coast of the peninsula.

They really do seem to be expecting a Normandy style invasion by Ukraine a country whose navy consists of zero ships and certainly no landing craft

Or some Ivan with a concrete plant managed to convince someone with access to budget that it was a great idea.

It'll be their last line of defence before they run into the sea and the firing slits will be looking the wrong way

Feels very Hitler like tbh, Norway was entrenched to the point of having an enormous amount of troops and bunkers when D-Day happened. They weren't ever used as Hitler's predictions that the allies would actually attack the steepest most unsuitable country in Europe never came true. I guess someone is expecting that Ukraine will magic up a massive landing-fleet.

Seems to me to be a pretty straight forward way of fleecing some more money out of the war. Loads of backhanders available in the construction and the quality will never be tested. I'd imagine most of these structures will crumble to dust in a year, may as well get paid to make sandcastles all along the coast.

Plus all the Russian soliders building them don't have to get shot at. It's a great idea if you don't want to die.

Georgia Meloni seems to have grown some fairly large melons and literally slapped down the pro-Putin shills in her own government and wing in a speech yesterday. Good on her.

She's been pro Ukraine since the start of her premiership - she's also on the right - and we know the left are apologists for Putin - so where does this leave your political assumptions?

I don’t quite understand what you’re trying to dig at here? St Jezza? I’m sure you’ll notice that I pointed out that her hard right leaning coalition is full of vatniks?

Trying to isolate the fact that myself and others have stated that the left has plenty of pro-Putin idiots, including a man you seem to like to defend doesn’t exclude the right from the same thing. Putin likes to invest in the wings of the political spectrum as the followers of said people seem more gullible and easily swayed with very basic propaganda tools, 'but the West', 'Putin is a Christian who defends white values', 'Russia is the birthplace of socialism, y'know', 'But, but Iraq', 'We must achieve peace at all costs even if it means Russia will gain land from their illegal invasion'. Take your pick, all are propaganda that the far left and right are fed through their shills to support Putin. In the UK these are George Galloway, Milne, Blumenthal, STWC, various oligarch owned businesses, a conglomeration of far right idiots and conspiracy theorists and so forth. In other nations they're typically AfD, Bonga Bonga party man, Orban, Geert Wilders, Marine Le Pen etc.

You'd like that. Im clearly digging at your political assumptions - left is bad, right is bad, unless it's against Russia. Got it. What about other right wing governments? Do you have an opinion on that?

Where have I said the above?

I've said Putin-shills are bad. And fascists, and communists. I think most people would agree with me. You seem to be mixing in your distain for whatever happened to Momentum in everything, and the stick you're trying to beat me with is some form of defense of the outer wings of our political spectrum?

What about right wing governments? You said "Georgia Meloni seems to have grown some fairly large melons " - I get the balls comparison - but who was she before she grew the melons?

She has big balls for standing inside a chamber of her government and arguing directly against half of her ministers and supporting parties (including Berlusconi's who's a mate of Putin), that is all. I don't know why you're extrapolating anything else from what was said, but you seem to think that everything is transferred to whatever personal standpoint you have.

What about right wing governments? I've heard your view on left wing governments - I'm scrabbling to find a positive description. But curiously, no view on the right, unless they've grown melons.

What does it matter? The video was about Meloni arguing against her outer-right wing, you've turned it into something most people would find boring. Back on topic. I'm not in this thread to have some sort of political debate about Meloni's place on the political spectrum, I posted the video as it shows someone stand up against a fairly heavy Putin-crony heavy chamber.
