Popular Post limpid Posted November 30, 2016 Administrator Popular Post Share Posted November 30, 2016 From the club: We are trying to raise the profile of our Ladies team, who, even though most have full time jobs outside of football, spend time several hours per week training to the same standard as the men's first team, for nothing more than the love of the shirt, but sadly don’t have the following as other large ladies teams, such as Man City. We have filmed some rare footage behind the scenes at the Ladies first ever game at the Aston Villa ground, which was also their final game of the season, which was won 4-0 by our ladies. The footage shows the emotions involved in playing at the ground for the first time, hard work, dedication that goes into the team, but also it contains the half time manager talk, which is rare to see on screen in this way. We want to share this as widely as possible as a nod to the team, and in advance of a community based scheme we will be doing to engaging more girls in football in the new year. As valued supporters with a strong audience of your own, we would really like your help to share this and support the club. I think if they moved their season to the summer it would get a lot more support though. Let's face it we are all starved of footy in the summer and a Villa team to follow would get me watching every now and then on a lovely hot day. Cheap family day out and all that. Maybe a couple of games at Villa Park before pre season friendlies. They need to do something to grab the masses attention. villa4europe Posted December 1, 2016 Share Posted December 1, 2016 I went to a game last season, took my football playing god daughter to the last game of the season when I'm sure the already won the league reading beat us something like 4-1, it was at Sutton Coldfield, it was ok, couple of hundred people there mainly reading family members I think, if that had been at VP she'd have loved it i actually went in the VP ticket office to buy the tickets, they had to get the manager to come help, they'd never sold a ticket for a ladies game before (it was pay on the door at SC but I wanted the ticket to put in her card) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Me, on the other hand, I'll be there because I'm just clearly a nice bloke you know that though, yeah? You do!!!
