If anything untoward is happening at our football club we won't find out for some time yet, I just find it a bit strange that Chris Samuelson an his mates are SO involved in the running of the club

that is all I'm pointing out

Yeah I can see how it's strange that specialists in football finance, with prior experience of holding directorships at football clubs, would sit on the board of a football club.

Agreed. We're much better off getting more retired army general's who wouldn't know a soccerball if one hit them in the head on the board.

Alternatively, maybe they have some grand notion of becoming the new Red Bull? Bit of a crowded market to get into, but I suppose an energy drink marketed in tandem with a (hopefully) Premier League club would get a lot of exposure worldwide.

I am sure most people in China use a proxy to by-pass the great firewall of China. I would assume there that using Google is the same as someone in the UK using a proxy to access to a piracy site, both are wholly illegal but no one is getting carted off by the feds for it.

If he moved to Britain like rumoured, then it'll be very much legal (i hope...)

No need to apologise. What do you find bizarre about it?

New company address at villa park run by a mate of Chris Samuelson called Jamie banfill who from what I hear specialises in shifting money around an no apparent expertise in the health food industry

seems completely normal!!

Too soon to say Xia out? Potentially and my fear is that when / if that time comes it will be far far harder to shift this one than the last two,  not saying we should be at that stage now.

Just that I am not overly encouraged by the first few months

We haven't even started the season and we're already moaning.

Typical world.

It is a hard habit to break. But as others have said, most people would have expected more business to have been done by this point. I certainly don't want any panic buying but you'd think there had been more players targeted by now. Couple that with semi-persistent rumours of potentially unsavoury business and the panic that the dreadful circle is starting again will cause people to moan. Hopefully it's all nothing and we see signs of improvement soon.

We bought a lot of players and did lots and lots of business to the squad last season. That didn't turn out well.

I'd rather sign just 3 or 4 players and stop it. There are quite a few good players in our squad, they only did 'badly' because the rest of the team were going the opposite direction. Think of last season as someone trying to climb a mountain, connected to their friend, before the friend just jumps off and takes the other person with him.

I'm fairly certain they are working on transfers as we speak, guys. They can't just snap their fingers and say "we want your player, give him to us". With respect to outgoings, we all saw how shit our bad players are. I'd be amazed if anyone was willing to take the likes of Gabby/Bacuna/Lescott off our hands. It's going to be hard as **** to move these players on.

I swear some of you folks think Xia and Matteo are just sitting around drinking beer in the sunshine chatting about Pokemon Go or something. They're working on it, I'm sure.

About the shit players I've just posted this on another thread...

Think about it like this.  Are we saying we wont be able to shift the shit players?

Well if thats the case then they are with us until their contracts run down and we have several Nzogbia type situations.  They will hardly play and contribute nothing apart from bad atmosphere stinking the club out and effectively taking up a squad place and wages from someone else and preventing us from improving.  If the whole idea is that we should improve and there are funds available then cutting losses on some of them now may be a huge benefit.  Players like Lescott, Guzan, Gabby, Bacuna if these are the ones we believe we cannot get rid of them to another club and we all know they will be shit for us,  what do we do? I would suggest that cancelling a few contracts would be the wisest move if we are sure no one wants them.
