Read we want both Gibson & McGeady  on this article:

Quote

Everton duo Darron Gibson and Aiden McGeady are wanted by Championship sides Middlesbrough and Derby County, report The Times.

The pair are available for loan after being told they are not in the plans of Toffees boss Roberto Martinez.

Brighton and Hove Albion are also interested in McGeady, claims the report.

McGeady had been linked with a move to Celtic, but the Daily Record reported this week that a return to his former club would not be possible, because they were unable to subsidise his wages. This would be a condition of any loan agreement Everton sanction.

There is competition from the Premier League, with SkySports reporting relegation battlers Sunderland and Aston Villa are both keen on the pair.

Both players are motivated to kick on in the second half of the season, as they are hoping to earn a place in the Republic of Ireland squad for Euro 2016.

They wouldnt be worst loans.  Everton fans like Gibson, they have some crazy record when he plays.  Havent lost at home or something when hes played

Problem is mate he is always injured and is a decent wedge at Everton something like 45k a week!! He isn't bad and has a hard shot on him.. Sort of better Craig Gardner to be fair.

I really don't know why we don't look at younger players that are doing well at League 1 or 2 clubs.. rather than Gibson or McGeady.

Or even look at trying to sign Bolton pair Josh Vela and Zack Clough as well as players like Bradley Dack, Tom Bradshaw, Rico Henry, Josh Windass, Matty Taylor (Bristol Rovers) Daniel Bentley, Conor Washington.

The route we tried before with Lowton, Westwood, Bowery simply didn't work because they wasn't performing as top players in their divisions!! the one's above are some of the best in those divisions.

They would show more heart and passion than the current lot and would do well in Championship as we are going there at the end of the season without a doubt..

That kid who ripped us apart for Malaga a few years ago.

for about £500k he could be a steal and is still young enough!! he totally ripped our defence apart that day.

Don't think it's delusional at all but like I said just my opinion.  Ashley may have liked Sherwood's enthusiasm?  Would he have come back to a chairman and fan base who quite frankly adored him? Offer him the right salary? Remember we had 40-50m to spend and bought poorly in the main.  Someone of his type is what we need anyway, as it's been crying out for it this season.

He spent the second half of last season playing every week for Man Utd and you think he'd have liked to move here (with a wage cut?) I'm sorry, but that is just delusional.

Is it? The three Jordan's have been our best performers. If we keep them and build around them with the best performing championship players we stand a very good chance as unlikely as it may seem.  You need a blend. Boro is a good example. Our problem despite what the media have you believe isn't the foreign players.

The 3 Jordans weren't budget signings though were they?

Clever ass loans and budget signings from France are not going to save us, this sort of thinking is surely Why we're in this position now!

Really? Amavi, Ayew and Veretout have been our best players this season.

You us want to sign more West Brom rejects?
