The banker loving, baby-eating Tory party thread (regenerated)

The danger is that the 'sensible' voices are currently all coming from within the Tory party (Sunak, Gove, Hunt etc) while the opposition remains completely anonymous. If they get them in place before an election and begin to 'steady the ship' and it will be all "Ooh, do you really want to risk Labour now things are getting back on track?". And the public will fall for it.

All the oppo parties have been dead clear on the budget thing and the chaos that it caused. "reverse it". The public won't fall for it at all, IMO, some people will have short memories sure, but because of what it's done to pensions, mortgages and stuff, the responsibility will stick to the Tories. A direct hit of 500 quid a month, or a house purchase fallen through because mortgage offer withdrawn, or pension value halving. People remember that stuff.

With Kwasi leaving this might just be the tip of the iceberg. Be interesting to see who actually romaines in the cabinet.

Reckon they'll bring in the MP for Chard to replace him. Proper little gem.

What plan? There was never a plan

If we’re being generous there was half a plan. Being held to account for the other half (the important bit) is what they seem to be really struggling with.

Ben Wallace as caretaker PM til an early election. Probably the only person that both the membership and MP's would agree on.

He didn’t want it before (who’d blame him).

This is the issue, anyone with half a brain will stay well away.

He’s also pretty busy with Ukraine/Russia.
