BREAKING NEWS - David Coleman dies at the age of 87

Sports broadcasting has today lost a legend after the death of former BBC commentator David Coleman OBE at the age of 87. His family has released this short statement: "We regret to announce the death of David Coleman OBE, after a short illness he died peacefully with his family at his bedside."

Distinctive and distinguished to say the least.

 

His commentary of Ann Packers' famous win always gives me a throat-wobble.

 

 

I always liked his famously emphatic "One-nil" too, when he did the footie.

 

Rumour has it that Ann Packer won her 800m gold at Tokyo 64 shortly after shagging Robbie Brightwell in the changing room.

That's a novel way for a female athlete to get her testosterone injections!

 

I've got a soft spot for David Coleman as he was one of two people I could do an impression of when I was a kid (the other being Terry Griffiths), I hope he is at peace.
