  1. I think there is a lot more to this injury than has been stated by the club. Personally don't think he will be back playing full time this season. It's going to take him a while to get match fit, plus they won't want to over exert him in 90 minute games. I would imagine he signed his contract in the summer with a promise that he would be sold if we don't acheive promotion so I would imagine even if his injury record decreases his value he will still be sold. 2. Put your Hause on it... I'm here all week
  3. Currently on season 4 with Villa, built myself a very stong team without spending more than 20 million per player (only two, the rest were sub 15 million). Worthwhile scouting SLB as they have some great young players constantly coming through. Players I have bought and been a success are: Chris Mepham - CB Marcos Senesi - CB Tin Jedvaj - RB Mario Pasalic - CM Exequiel Palacios - CM - Absolute beast Ruben Loftus-Cheek - CAM Solly March - RM Anthony Martial - LM Gabriel Barbosa - ST - Goal Machine Season 1 - Finished top of the Championship. Season 2 - Fourth in the Premier League. Season 3 - Fourth in the Premier League, won the League Cup. Lost in the Champions League Semi Final. Season 4 - Currently fourth in the Premier League in February, four points off top. Still in both the FA Cup and the Champions League.
  4. Anyone tried this yet? I have Game Pass but it looks so poor that I haven't even bothered downloading it yet. Absolutely loved the first Crackdown
  5. At first I thought this was completely mad... but I've thought about it. ---------------------------------------Kalinic--------------------------------------- ---------------Elphick-------------Mings-----------Hause----------------- Elmo -----------Whelan--------Hourihane----------------Green -----------------------------------Abraham----------------------------------- ---------------------------Davis------------Kodja------------------------ I would give this a go. Abraham spent most of the game on Saturday dropping into the midfield, he might as well play in the number 10 role as he can at least hold a ball up and take on a player. Our major problem in this formation is the lack of wing backs we have. Elmo is a natural wing back and would probably be best on the right, on the left you could play any of Green, Adomah or El Ghazi; all have their limitiations defensively.
  6. I actually think that the atmosphere in each game has been very good from kick off, but then goes downhill as the game begins. The performances on the pitch have a direct impact on the atmosphere and therefore it is upto the players to help raise it. Saturday is a prime example of the atmosphere being very good up until the 30th minute, the performance started to drop, we stopped pressing as we had started out, the passing stopped and WBA started dictating play. By half time we were 2-0 down and the atmosphere was completely dead. Second half we couldn't break them down and the atmosphere barely lifted itself back up again. Unfortunately we have some complete morons in the stands, and the actions of these morons are picked up by a large number of fans. The jeers and boos when Hourihane was subbed came from a very small minority at the back of the Holte, but as soon as they started the rest of the ground seemed to pick up on them and it became louder. I'm normally against the cry's of 'get it forward' as sometimes you have to go back to build up the play, but Saturday was dismal and we were sending the ball backwards and sideways simply because we didn't know what to do with it. It's now time for Smith to make some changes to the line-up, he has the bonus of Grealish and Tuanzebe coming back, Carroll and Lansbury soon returning. Realistically he now needs to take some risks, Ramsey seems to be the start of it. If the fans can see we are trying to fix the current mess we are in, if the fans can see that the players are putting some effort in on the pitch, pressing, tackling, showing some fight; then the atmosphere will return.
  7. Fairplay you must have put some serious hours in to get Eastleigh this far!
  8. Exactly what I said last night. It's a shame we loaned out most of the U23's as I honestly don't think a midfield of Doyle-Hayes, McGinn and O'Hare could do any worse than the current midfield. They would at least have some fight in them for 90 minutes.
  9. Some of the calls for his head are ridiculous, he will build for next season over the summer and I think it will change the club in a huge way. A rebuild which has been needed for over 10 years. However in saying this I am dissapointed in what I have seen of late. There are two reasons for the current dismal displays and Smith has to take the flack for one of them: 1) The players aren't giving the same effort that they did earlier in the season, they aren't working hard enough, pressing hard enough and generally trying to win football matches in the same way we did last season and when Smith took over. Unfortunately the vast majority of them just aren't good enough but there are no excuses for not putting the work in. There are teams in this league with players with less technical abilities that make it up in work ethic each week, just look at Brentford last night. 2) This is where Smith has let us down. Tactically he was spot on in the early stages, he changed the formation and style and with Tuanzebe & Grealish we were a real force. Since those two have been injured the formation and style hasn't worked, as the manager it's his job to get the best out of the players he has and he just hasn't done it. The midfield has been overrun in every game, I just can't understand how he hasn't seen this and changed the way we play, changed the formation to adapt to this. Sometimes playing direct is needed with an extra striker up front, lose the wingers if they aren't proving effective and flood the midfield, play an extra centre back and let the fullbacks go forward. But we have just continued in the same way, drawing, losing, scraping wins whilst playing some absolutely turgid stuff. On the plus... the defence now looks very solid. Mings, Elphick and Kalinic deserve some credit, but so does Smith. If this is what he can do in one January transfer window surely he deserves the Summer to see through a complete rebuild of the squad?
  10. We need to continue giving this lad game time, with Green on the other wing. Both are dangerous going forward, all that needs improving now is switching the play a lot quicker to give them a better chance of going at a full back; currently the ball seems to have to go through every player in our back line before it makes it to the other side of the pitch. Grealish will make a massive difference to El Ghazi's game, drawing players out to him before releasing the ball to El Ghazi in space instead of having Hutton give him the ball at point blank range with three players around him.
  11. Green has to start tonight, as someone else mentioned earlier he needs to become our first choice left winger now. Give the lad consecutive game time and he will improve, it's absolutely pointless playing Adomah and Kodjia there when neither will be here next season and both seem to be going backwards with their careers. Granted some of his crosses were... different... on Friday, but with game time and 90 minute spells under his belt he will improve and his confidence will rise. He has hunger and desire that we desperately need in this team.
  12. Kalinic Hutton Elphick Mings Taylor Whelan El Ghazi Hourihane McGinn Green Abraham I don't think we have anything better than the above currently. Whelan changed the game on Friday and needs to start over Jedinak, our problem is other than the three starting we have no other centre midfield options this week. Green offers more out wide than Kodjia, he is more direct and will only get better with game time. I can't call this one, we will need to be significantly better than Friday if we are to come away with 3 points.
  13. I would argue that Hutton has been our best player for the last few games and he starts almost everything. He's the only player in our team (bar McGinn and Abraham) who isn't afraid to drive forward with the ball.
  14. For me our season is now pretty much over. With a winning run we could realistically still push ourselves into the top 6, but a winning run is so far away from this current team. There is just nothing there, for 80 minutes on Friday we created nothing pumping the ball from one wing to the other, playing it slowly across the back 4, bypassed the midfield. A winning run to get into the playoffs would have to start on Wednesday and we just haven't shown any evidence of it coming. The reliance on Grealish this season has cost us, as has the stubbornness to not adapt to life without him. We must have known he was going to be missing close to 3 months of football, why didn't we change the style of play and formation to suit the players playing every week? Why did we not find a like for like replacement (hard I know) early in January to plug the gap for 2 months. The annoying thing about this season is the fact that the team have shown how good they can be, with Grealish against Derby and Boro. And then without Grealish in glimpses (the last 10 minutes on Friday). It makes it much harder to take how poor our league position and stats from the season really are.
  15. There is so much wrong with what you have just written. We are making losses but we aren't making losses of 100k a day, that's ridiculous. The losses will be fixed at the end of the season when the out of contract players save us over 300k a week (granted a few will need to be replaced) We didn't send Bolasie back due to wages, he left of his own accord.
  16. Personally think Kodjia offers more, although he will have less time on the ball tonight against a decent team. Green is fit so will be a good option on the left.
  17. If Adomah starts tonight I'm going to get back in my car and go home.
  18. He wasn't last season, but he's done the job this season. If we buy a player like Abraham we don't buy the player he currently is, we buy the player that he can become. If we buy a squad of finished articles then you aren't increasing the value of your squad in anyway. Abraham comes in for £25 million and improves as a player and two seasons later he is a £40 million striker.
  19. What a great month, I think I will invest this month. Although I think Crackdown 3 will probably be the biggest letdown of the year.
  20. AF IF AM IF BBM DP WB BPD BPD WB GK This is by far the best formation I have used on FM19
  21. I don't want to be completely negative here... but I think with Grealish not being available for another month our playoff hopes are all but gone now.
  22. I've now watched this back in real time and it's 100% an accident. Oliveira literally falls under Mings as runs over him. There's no chance it was premeditated stamp. His reaction after looks to be completely genuine as well. From the referee's position I would doubt a ban will be incurred. Slow motion makes things look a lot different. It's almost like where a player is accused of diving after a slight touch, when you look back and the player has been running at full pelt a slight touch is all it can take to knock them off their balance.
  23. I heard a few people mention this on Saturday. Personally I would rather we went up this season and got bummed in every single game next season and went back down, all whilst rebuilding over the transfer windows. The money alone from going up and then going back down over staying in this league would ease FFP and further help the Dean Smith revolution.
