  1. Completely agree with this, he got it completely wrong first half yesterday but corrected his tactics and earned us a point in arguably our toughest game of the season. Managers we have had over the past few years would have sent the same team with same tactics out second half... RDM can't win in some peoples eye's

    Tactics

Our problem first half was that we had no width, this is why the ball was getting passed around at the back and causing so many problems. As a team we just aren't good enough to play with wing backs, they expose our weak defence too much. We need to be playing a formation where we can pack out the midfield which in most games is currently non existent. This will work, as we saw last night: Gollini Bacuna Elphick Chester Amavi Jedinak Westwood Tshibola Ayew Kodjia Grealish You can then replace Ayew with Adomah, Grealish with McCormack and Kodjia with Gestede depending on form/injuries etc. Tshibola is the driving force in that midfield so without him we need to drop a player like McCormack in there who can pick up a ball and get it forward/take on players.
  3. God I hope he plays today so this thread goes back to his footballing ability instead of whether he's going to turn into the next Gazza...
  4. In fairness to Collymore he does speak a lot of sense these days, and is brutally honest that he was never good enough at Villa
  5. Ridiculous over reaction to this, the lad can go to a party with his mates if he isn't drinking and its not a few days prior to a game. I would imagine some morons brought out the balloons and then suddenly its a story because Grealish was present. A few years back before social media footballers going out was the norm and no-one heard of it. You can't lock up a 20 year old all week so he performs on a weekend. It's a non story that has been over hyped on Twitter by the fans, and now Stan Collymore and Tony Xia. I will be annoyed if the club leave him out of the squad in arguably one of our biggest games of the season.
  6. Don't want to burst your bubble here mate but we didn't survive against the odds, we were relegated in a humiliating fashion...
  7. Jesus this is a depressing thread today... 114 points to play for and 7 points behind Newcastle... We will soon gel together and start recording wins, obviously we need this to happen as soon as possible... But we can't write off our season after 8 games. Bar the last two games we have looked a very good team, with a few more players back (Tshibola, Gestede, Grealish, McCormack) we will be fine to push for automatic promotion...
  8. But if we had won a few more games and were currently sitting in the top 3 would we now be disputing Villa's decision to not hand Stan a contract... The decision was clearly made on his current fitness and ability and not his past fitness and ability... (Obviously footballing ability is still there but he no longer has it in the legs like he used to, not many 37 year olds do)
  9. I watched Stan in the friendly against Worcester and in all honesty he was off the pace and looked as though he struggled. If RDM had signed him up for this season it would have taken a few more months to get his fitness up to scratch and even then it may just be a case that age has caught up with him... he wouldn't be the game changing midfielder that we need We have bigger issues to deal with currently than worrying about this
  10. You've posted 373 times trolling on a forum... maybe it's time to take a long hard look at your life...
  11. Great bit of business if the 3 million fee is true! This is an interesting read, Boro fans don't seem happy at all about this... http://oneboro.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=8132&page=1738
  12. We would be getting a proven Championship winger; they would be getting an unproven Premiership winger, made of glass, who couldn't be bothered to prove his worth in the Championship. If he doesn't want to help fight for the club this season I for one want him gone and replaced with someone who will help get the club back where it belongs.
  13. I would rather play Tony Xia at CB, sell him today!
  14. I see no point in selling Ayew... granted he can be greedy, miserable and doesn't seem to want to pass to McCormack... However with Adomah coming in it gives us an option to move Ayew to the bench and fight for a place in the team. At this level he should be one of if not the best player in the league. If he decides not to fight for a place and just wants out then we sell him in January.
  15. Don't know what world you're living in mate, you're judging De Laet after one game after a week with the squad... against Hutton who is one of the worst RB's the club have ever had. And Okore and Clark premier league quality... relegation quality... Delusional
  16. He looks ideal in my opinon, a proper right winger who can beat a man, cross a ball and look to cut inside and have a go. Get him signed and then we can work on the ST, AM and another CM!
  17. What you meant to write was... I worry that we basically lose our ability to be calm on the ball in the middle of the park and pick a sideways or backwards pass.
  18. This some sort of sick joke? You would rather play Cissokho at LB for the rest of the season? Or maybe we should re-sign Richardson...
  19. Stick with the same team and get some consistency which we have been missing for years. The confidence of back to back wins going into the Derby game would be worth more than a couple of rested players... realistically this shouldn't be need so early on in the season.
  20. I thought Bacuna was MOTM today, didn't put a foot wrong defensively and worked hard helping out Ayew. He's easily the best crosser of the ball we have.
  21. Such a frustrating player to watch, going forward with the ball he's incredible. Fast and strong, he can literally go past an entire team. But... He need's to learn when to release a ball to other players. And he also needs to learn that he has a defensive job to do. Bacuna was constantly shouting at him trying to pull him back to help him out and it left us exposed down the right side. He could be great, but for now he's a player to bring off the bench with 20 minutes to go to run at a tired defence. I think he would be more effective as a striker personally.
  22. Done deal, Tony just tweeted a picture with him announcing it
  23. If he signs this morning will he play tomorrow?
