  1. Yes he certainly played well in the US Open. Beating a player like Del Potro was a major achievement. Yeah, Del Potro only won it in the last few years, so shows that even though he's in the twilight of his career he's got the ability to beat the best.

    Drugs

Reading just a few of these statements makes me realise in the real world how little is understood. There's a huge difference to being a user and an addict. Addicts are people who in their personality traits want it more and more, these people sometimes get into drugs or other psychological turn ons and it wrecks their lives, be it alcohol, pornography, crack, smack or whatever. I've known people who in their teens used to get off their heads on recreational drugs more than the average but have had a very very good career. To me if people take things in moderation it's no big deal and shouldn't be criminalised, alcohol and the often supported cannabis is just as bad as any other drug in my opinion
  3. Yes he is but his play was the first of the new generation of big baseline hitters, I believe he's the youngest ever No.1. He's had a few injury issues in his career that have set him back but has been playing well again recently. To me a top player isn't one who wins everything, just making a slam event is a big achievement. And yeah I feel Sampras is maybe close to Federer as the greatest ever to play the sport
  4. Yeah if they could they would, the modern game is too fast, Lleyton Hewitt is the first modern tennis player, he stayed at the back at Wimbledon and hit winners past the incoming players. Theres not enough time between serve and second shot to get on top of the net, probably less than a second. At the top of the sport, even good county level tennis is very tough, people who can call anyone a hacker at this level shows a poor understanding of modern day tennis
  5. I can't be half arsed with any relationship right now, wonder if there's any others on the same wavelength. I've had two what I'd call serious relationships in the past, getting engaged to one. Just being single seems a lot less hassle than being in a serious one. I can do what I want, sleep with who I want, don't have depressing arguments over next to nothing and the only person who I have to answer to is myself. The downside is (I'm 29 now) I feel obliged to offer my parents a grandchild and feel guilty about not doing it by now. I'm not fussed about having a nagging partner but I don't want to let my parents down, such a dilemma
  6. People who think otherwise don't really have an understanding of the game, apart from some of Rogers games in his prime the only other player to have gotten to that level is Marat Safin vs Federer in the aussie final where he seemed to hit the lines so regularly. It's a shame he had temperament issues as he should have achieved so much more in the game with his abilities, watch him on youtube hitting (practising) and just look at his technique-phenomenal!
  7. Surely the Lazio manger would think this guy's quality in the Europa, why don't I give him more responsibility in the Serie A, or is this idea flawed?
  8. He didn't get obliterated, he lost a very hard fought match. he should really have won the third set. Some of the best tennis played ever. That 54 shot rally was immense. Djokovic doesn't finish players off like he used to. He looses too many key points. Guess Nadals knees wont hold out forever so he should add to his tally of 6 slams. That's quite funny, also that 54 shot rally was like 50 odd hacks, nearly fell asleep. Are you joking? These guys on the pro circuit don't hack, they were 54 high energy sapping shots. In the second set and the first half of the third Djokovic was probably playing the highest quality tennis that's ever been played, he just could not keep it up. Nadal beat him because he was in a better shape physically, he's done amazingly to get himself into the shape he has after his injury troubles. I think Nadal's and Djokovic's post match comments back this up also, if Djokovic cut out a few errors that led to him losing the third set and demoralising himself he would of been hard to match
  9. England are 14th in the FIFA rankings I believe, I'm sure the ranking system needs an overhaul. I'd love Villa to have to play England every week in the Premier league, I couldn't see anything less than 38 wins a season
  10. Yevhen Konoplyanka Nice one! Looks a player. Sign him up! Only 23 too. Was he the player who played that lovely diagonal ball into our box in the first half? That reminded me of Beckham
  11. Lambert looked absolutely shattered after 22mins of the score board, I think it's very poor that Hodgson hasn't opted for a player that might be around for a while. Yeah England have looked poor but they've been like this for a long time now, shame Belgium aren't playing as I'd be watching them right now like I did on Friday night
  12. He's not in the team for tonight's game, did he pick up an injury against Italy as he normally starts
  13. I follow football and tennis fairly closely in terms of statistical trends, I've never really placed many bets but thought that having so much interest and a bit of understanding then maybe I could have some success. I did read a while back now that a failed/unemployed stockbroker in the city used his ability with statistics to become a hugely successful gambler, something like +£20million in a few years. In the article he was explaining some of his indicators and methods that he used, but it was all on the horses, something I know very little about. I was thinking whether there is any success stories and tips on football for me to at least start with, I know tennis is fairly unpredictable especially now the top 4 is no longer a four as Federer ages and the rest are getting better and increasingly likely to shock anyone.
  14. I've known people who swear they know fellas who live by gambling and a good whack at that, can anyone give me top tips on 'how to beat the bookmaker'
  15. ruined it for me, never been a tat fan, can look cool on lads although I've never felt the urge myself but on girls it's a bit council estate looking for attention. Well she is from an estate so I guess it should've been expected. No offence to anyone on an estate just saying this isn't my taste
  16. Thanks people, can see this turning into a great match
  17. Come on Djokovic, hope he turns the game around. He's hitting some huge shots late in the second set
  18. Just watching the US open mens final, have witnessed the most incredible 54 shot rally. I'm a massive fan of tennis and a very decent player myself and have to say I've never witnessed a rally so long. Makes me very proud to be European when we have such a dominance of the worldwide sport, Murray, Berdych, Nadal, Djokovic, Federer...the list is long
  19. He's much more than a goalscorer, thought he had a very tidy match. Did he ever lose possession? Can't remember it myself
  20. I'm not offended by his twitter or keek accounts, I don't see why people should be. If people can't accept that not everyone's the same then they need to look at themselves. This planet would be one boring environment if everyone was mirror images of one another as that is how society 'expected them to behave'. Yeah, he clearly isn't exceptionally well educated but at least he has forged a very successful career for himself with the abilities he has been given.
  21. I haven't really been interested in watching England since they last played decent football under Glen Hoddle. Definitely going to be streaming the Belgium game tonight
  22. Never new he is Jo Wilfried Tsonga's cousin, I like him more after finding this out for some reason I'm not sure of
  23. He's listed as a homegrown player on the official 25 man squad list. Is this an error or does he qualify?
  24. Those kind of goals set you back £85,300,000 these days
