  1. Poor from Luna, anyone still believe he's better than Bennett defensively
  2. Should be interesting. Don't know why someone has labelled Bacuna being a liability in this thread, have we seen enough of him to draw these kind of assumptions. Shows Lambert does have a plan B system, something people have been calling for, yet when he changes it up people are upset! Lets see how this match goes before getting irate
  3. Firstly I was in a 4 year relationship with an girl of foreign race, I wouldn't call myself racist, just concerned that a country that I'm resident will be changed beyond recognition without people giving a damn just like yourself. Unless of course you're just trying to look 'politically correct'. It's a response I expected (being labelled incorrectly) and exactly why few people openly discuss these kind of issues as in a far lefty environment it would be classed as politically incorrect. Global population growth isn't a result of people being to reticent you're correct. However, acting to control the issue is! That is the point, Islam countries don't believe in contraception, which with modern knowledge is a ridiculous stance to take on the issue.
  4. Forever being given step by step instructions when using your card to pay by chip and pin
  5. Some aspects of political correctness are beneficial maybe, and no doubt taking that stance makes people feel morally correct and respectable citizens. However things have gone a little bit over the top in the UK, we are now so nice that we are terrified to say how we feel. The only thing that being British is these days seems to be being nice, and this will have huge consequences for the future of the UK. I think in the future when the white British UK demographic is in the minority, which is predicted by 2070, those people in the future will think what happened to the UK. I'm not racist, although I accept this point could be taken as such, I think we are being invaded through the back door because of our own 'good manners'. It can be seen as a weakness to others. Here's the big question, do you think our grand children will be looking back thanking us for being so politically correct? I like the multi-cultural feel to the UK, but if the minorities are having many children per couple and white people on average don't, things are going to become lop-sided. You travel the world and meet new cultures and ask them if they've been to the UK, it's amusing/distressing that they say that to meet the British, you should go elsewhere other than London. I guess the major issue for me is birth control, if you know much about environmental issues and global challenges, exponential population growth is the biggest threat to the world. Yet what is being done about it? F*ck all. I've heard it mentioned by politicians before but it's quickly turned around and put down because it's 'against peoples rights'. What about the rights of the future generations? Shouldn't they have rights to a diverse environment that hasn't been destroyed?
  6. Well they aren't worth much these days anyway. This is putting it mildly. Candidate: "Hi I'd like to apply for the job you've got advertised. Employer: "do you have a degree?" Candidate: "No" Employer: "Sorry, you can't apply" Thats how it works at the place where I work, so from my experience they are worth having. If the market becomes flooded with 'Mickey Mouse' degree's then I guess they will have to find another way of filtering the candidates at the application stage. They will eventually in the near future be built up to a degree, they will be more customisable as well as being more convenient to study. That's the whole idea of them. It's like a huge extension to the Open University with much more choice
  7. Yeah, it's really in the experimental stage. Eventually that's the plan though I believe, I read a year or so ago that the person who freshens the higher education sector up to suit the workplace better will become minted, think it was on the Forbes site. This looks like the first stages of that plan
  8. Employers are growing more and more dissatisfied with graduates from what you read on the news, it would be far more practical for the employer and employee to mix and match modules for the specific career path or interests you have/need. This looks like the future for higher level education.
  9. Look like short taster courses only at the minute, a good few of them look worth doing. Hopefully next year they'll have full blown degrees where you only have to pay for the qualification if/when the course is passed
  10. Thanks for the link, was about to look for it just then
  11. I studied economics at university a few years ago without showing much commitment and never completed my degree. It's something which I regret deeply, and finding well paid work seems to be quite a big challenge. Anyway these online university courses were on the news sites yesterday morning, not many courses are available at the minute and it's being run as a trial to start with. The US did this starting last year and they are continuing with it. That's all I know about the courses at the moment, has anyone looked into these and have much detailed information? I'd like to get a degree but costs are a big issue for me personally
  12. Yeah, without a doubt. Sometimes I wonder why, but when the next match comes around I get a great feeling of anticipation, and when they play well it's a joy to watch. Wish they played well more often though. I admit though, under Graham Taylor (2nd spell) and after I realised how dire the football O'Leary managed to get the team to play my enthusiasm dulled, but Lambert has got a far more entertaining brand of football going on.
  13. Another couple of 3 game accumulators I've done for this weekends games. Gone for Liverpool draw, Newcastle and West Ham wins in one lot and in the other Villa, Arsenal and Manchester United wins. Don't think Liverpool are going to be big scorers just yet, Newcastle impressed against us last weekend and I think West Ham have looked pretty decent barring their attack but expect them to improve. Our away form fingers crossed will be too much for Norwich, Arsenal are on a little run and Man city have looked a bit ordinary so I'm going for a United result. Get decent returns if these come off
  14. Never knew he was injured, makes sense to me now that he was dropped
  15. After watching Eastern promises, good film and all, but after actually living in the communist countries this is very inaccurate. The ladies know exactly what kind of lifestyle to expect, free media and the internet is available in East Europe you know. These girls know the score, they weigh up the cost benefits as anyone else would. We are told how to live a perfect life, yet we cloud over the truth. The western world is made to believe that Roman Abromovich and his fellow Asians made their money fairly and they should be accepted into Western culture as Oligarchs. Living in Eastern Europe this is Bollocks, they make their money from intimidation, murder and dodgey deals. It's a totally different world there. I was in Bulgaria for Petrovs testimonial, the number of people with AMG Mercedes was astounding, more than western Europe. I studied economics at university, tell me how this is possible unless they are purely big time criminals
  16. I guess 'value' is all about an intimate knowledge of the sport. What references do you use to make you decide on this? Personal, via expert pundits, making charts etc or all of these combined
  17. Are you having a dig at my explanation? It isn't racial at all what I said. Ireland to me acted like a 'g', nothing to do with race at all. You give me another reasoned explanation why he has been sidelined, because I would like to hear one and I'd be inclined to agree with you maybe. I'm perplexed he has been left out so far
  18. The extinct passenger pigeon was the most numerous bird of all time, really upsets me how much we've raped this planet, people shot it to extinction. Here's an interesting fact about the bird. One flock in 1866 in southern Ontario was described as being 1 mi (1.5 km) wide and 300 mi (500 km) long, took 14 hours to pass, and held in excess of 3.5 billion birds
  19. The Guiness book of records was created because of a bird shoot. One of the men trying to shoot a bird, think it was a plover, was unable to do so. After which, with his friend, an argument entailed as to what is the fastest flying bird. The name Guiness is because one of them was a managing director for Guiness Breweries
  20. I wonder whether he's shown any kind of poor discipline to Lambert. It's the only reason I can think of that he's not in the starting 11. This is of course nothing more than unfounded speculation. Maybe he's got to big for his station, I don't know, but he does seem to look like a 'g' whenever I see footage of him outside the club. Couldn't imagine Lambert would be enthused if he acted like one
  21. I think I'll have a read of the Schwarzenegger book, quite a colourful life. Also Sir Sugar. If you haven't read Booky Wooky is pretty captivating, Russell has a spell binding way of writing as well as speaking.
  22. He's still only 20 fortunately, if he's back fit again next year he'll still be very young as a defender. It's more disastrous when an injury like this happens to a striker or tricky attacker. If a player loses sharpness because of it it's easier to disguise as a defender. Having said that, Ruud Van Nistelrooy didn't look to bad after coming back from a similar injury.
  23. What's the minimum and maximum that this may take him out of the side for, is 8/9 months an average?
