  1. He is actually attempting to progress the ball forward after winning it. That's the biggest change for me. Far to often last year he would immediately chose the safe option and play the sideways or backwards pass.
  2. Nothing special about Tuchel. Chelsea wages are Top 5 in the entire world. Not being able to win in regular time versus a Villa 2nd team is quite poor.
  3. Says more about Frank. Was totally out of his depth.
  4. Looks exactly like the treatment one would receive for a tight quad. The force needed to rupture one of the strongest tendons in your body would have easily sent that ball flying through the net and into the Holte End. He probably isn't fit to start but I wouldn't be surprised if he is in the bench again.
  5. On field Concussion test like ACL test on knees are not 100%. They rely some bit on the player providing feedback to the trainers. Football is especially tough because the trainer only has a limited amount of time to make the assessment. In American Football players talk all the time of fooling the test so they can carry on. Barring introducing timeouts to football or allowing unlimited substitutions, which would allow for more in depth assessments, on field concussion test will always be heavily reliant on player feedback.
  6. Players take time to grow into a position. For me that was his best game from the middle. Definitely not good enough yet but the opportunities it would afford us if we can get it work are very attractive.
  7. I hate that players feel the need to post apologies after a lung busting 90 minute performance. Nothing to be ashamed about.
  8. So every game going forward if Dean doesn't play his strongest available 11 then he doesn't care about winning. What's the point of naming a 25 man squad if he's only allowed to use 11 players out of it. We all watched our first team burn itself out by Christmas last year. Now we have the squad to rotate players and it's now a bad thing? Our top 11 just played a game 3 days ago. Did you notice how energetic our press was tonight. No way a team that just played 3 days ago delivers that energy level for 90 minutes. How is taking the continental champions to penalties not trying? So if the first team had played and lost 3-0 again you would call that trying?
  9. Really impressed with his effort levels while pressing. He was still going full tilt 2nd half extra time.
  10. Tuchel bout to throw on about half a million in wages, nick the game 1-0 and be hailed as masterclass in tactics
  11. A lineup of all first teamers with only 1 U23. Pretty decent lineup. Chelsea has pretty much done the same. Let's see how it goes.

    Louie Barry

Let him earn his place. If he can't handle a little adversity then how will he ever cut it in the PL.
  13. Say it again louder for the people in the back.
  14. You're using hindsight to make your point. It's only a bad decision because he didn't play. So now Buendia is only allowed to travel if he is going to make the match day squad. Problem is he doesn't know if he makes the squad unless he travels. So now you have Buendia in a catch 22 where only you get to be right. Really I think you are just looking to have a moan and after a 3-0 win finding a scapegoat isn't easy. Dean, The Club and Buendia all seem pretty satisfied with how everything turned out. The only person unhappy with this situation is you.
  15. Appreciate you posting the link. Your statement sounded so far fetched I immediately dismissed it as BS. The way i see it is back in my college days if I couldn't quote Wikipedia in my 30 page research paper then how the hell is a club allowed to quote Transfermarkt in a end of year financial report .
  16. I just used the 2015 squad as an example. Pick any sh*t team and the fact is still the same. The issue you are complaining about is true for any team with top tier talent. If you don't want this issue then go follow a conference team. No worries of international call up there.
  17. Pep and Tuchel gonna win so many points in the 2nd half by "changing tactics." Actually now that I think about it that's exactly what we did to Everton . Pretty much confirms Dean as a world class manager.
  18. You can't have it both ways. If you want the young and hungry stars of world football then you will have to deal with them getting called up to their national team. I bet the PL relegation champions of 2015 didn't have this headache. Pretty sure none of us want to go back there.
  19. I'm a fan especially when you're gambling in leagues where you can't sit and watch most games . I will say though that xGs next improvement is to standardize a method of calculation. For example per Understat Mings 1st half header off a corner inside the 6 yard box got a score of .07xG. Keanes header in the 2nd half from about 6 yards further out received a score of almost .3xG. That type of variance for 2 headers off a set play seems far to large. People will continue to treat xG as junk science til they develop and easily understood method of calculation.
  20. Yeah it was a ballsy sub by Dean. Throwing on Bailey at LWB knowing that he probably wasn't going to be doing much, if any, defending. Love that we have a manager now that isn't happy with a 0-0 and roll the dice on getting all 3 points.
  21. Did any of you rushing to belittle Buendia notice how happy he was for Cash on his opening goal. Thank God he actually supports the club unlike some on here.
  22. Jack covered up a lot of Targetts flaws. I bet with Bailey on the left of a 4-3-3 he looks the part again. Isn't good enough to play the wing back role like Alonso does for Chelsea.
  23. I have Lukaku as well but Tuchel's tactics means he has to manufacture his chances from scratch. Ronaldo has 3.2 xG versus 2.8 for Lukaku and Ronaldo has played half the minutes. That trend doesn't look promising over the course of a season.
