  1. He's been one of our better players lately. I hope we don't sell him now, just when we're finally seeing a return on our investment.
  2. I hope he can hit the ground running - very fast, because it's looking like he will be pelted with rotten eggs as soon as he takes the field. "Boo, go home you Eredivisie-winning, goal creator and scorer for the Australian national side. We don't want your scum at the mighty Villa." :winkold:
  3. We deserved what win today, we absolutely battered Fulham. Ireland MOTM.
  4. Stay, he should be given the opportunity to rebuild the squad in preseason and turn things around.
  5. Glad he's gone. However I can't understand why we've waited until the transfer window closed to release him from his contract, with him off the books we could have brought someone else in.
  6. IMO Ireland was awesome again tonight, it looks like he's rediscovered some of his best form. We certainly deserved all three points, we should have had a couple of pens as well.
  7. As long as it looks good, doesn't fall apart and is available before November (yes Nike I'm looking at you) I don't care.
  8. I hope this is a turning point. Today I was actual frustrated for the team, not at them! Our defending from set pieces is still abysmal, but overall I thought we deserved a point.
  9. Had a good game today. He's certainly decent back up for Given.
  10. Whether Mcleish is our manager or not, it still wont change the fact that the club is skint.
  11. A vital 3 points and N'Zogbia had a decent game to. In truth it could/should have been more comfortable, but a win is a win. UTV!
  12. The problem goes a lot deeper than AMc. The club is in turmoil, and this turmoil radiates down from the board room. Lack of funds, lack of ambition that's all on Lerner's shoulders, IMO AMc is a scapegoat, not that I'm thrilled that he's here.
  13. Taken one point when we really needed all three. Gabbly MOTM, but we're just so negative.
  14. Dire performance, but honestly what were people expecting? We never win at Spurs anyway, plus when you consider Spurs are third in the league, with a wealth of international talent at their disposal, then realistically we didn't stand much of a chance. Add to that, the fact that we sold our two best players in the summer, coupled with Randy's reluctance to invest, and its going to be a long hard season. IMO, even if McLeish goes, Randy still has to get his check book out, otherwise we're f@~ked!
  15. Well you can't polish a turd! Our squad is poor IMO and our youngster simply aren't good enough to compete. Plus the money we made from the Downing and Young sales hasn't been reinvested in the team as it should have been.
  16. Yes I hear this a lot too. For me though it is hard to have too much sympathy with him. Are you saying he was not aware of these restrictions before taking the job? I doubt that yet he still took it. On the Lerner front, and people not understanding why Mcleish was appointed in the first place, how about this as an answer to that. Lerner knew full well the shit coming our way this season, why not appoint a manager to take some of the flak for that so supporters would focus on Mcleish rather than Lerner ? So appojt Mcleish as a cushion. That just sounds like Mcleish has been stitched up by the board. If that is the case, and he's been employed just to act as a buffer between the fans and the board then that is disgraceful IMO, and I fail to see how that is HIS fault.
  17. I can't entirely blame Mcleish, the board need to take some flack for not investing in the squad properly. Mcleish hasn't been helped by the boards mandate either, which seems to be 1) reduce the wage bill 2) don't get relegated. IMO Randy needs to get his check book out in January!
  18. Poor performance, but still a decent point away from home against a useful Everton side. Yes we got lucky, but we did show good resilience to come from behind... twice.
  19. 100% agree. Also, bearing in mind that Cuellar may return to Rangers in January, makes sense to buy Hutton now so he's fully integrated into the team by then.
  20. 77- what a wank squad number. Disappointed he's gone!
  21. I got it! Parker's off to Spurs and Palacios is off to Stoke, so that just leaves Diarra to Villa! Happy days! :winkold:
  22. I think since GH's departure and the clubs change in footballing philosophy his card has been marked.
