I think he'll end up going out on loan somewhere. He's only got twelve months left on his contract anyway so he'll be gone next summer.

So... Palace pay his wages in full, we maybe get a loan fee? plus a £2m bonus if they stay up and a transfer fee if they make his move permanent. That's not bad considering Fulham only offered us £4m.

IF Carol is worth £35M then so is Benteke. If I were in charge at VP I'd also refuse to sell him to another PL club. I don't think I could stand to see him score against us next season.

As I recall he wasn't all that bothered about Villa when he did that interview in the Sun and tried to engineer his 'dream' move to Liverpool. Barry's not a Villa man in the same way Gabby is for example. Like Trent, I've heard from people close to him that he would happily come back to Villa one day. He's not a Villa fan, like Gabby, but you can see that he wanted to leave to win things. Though the way he left wasn't the best. We'd just finished sixth in the league with a very good team, If he really cared about Villa he could have stayed and helped us win things.

I'd have Petrov in this years team if I could and he is 33. I would certainly take a 32 year old Barry as captain and leader of the revolution. The difference is we didn't sign Petrov when he was 32.

If we want players with experience why not just keep Given and Bent?? Dunne had bags of experience also, but people were glad when he left, I just don't get it??

Do you think Luke Murphy will be more equipped for the premiership next season than Gareth Barry? Yes, Barry's in decline. Murphy is way to good for league one and If Lowton and Westwood can make the step up there's no reason why Murphy can't.

I wouldn't take him back, He's 32 now and Irrespective of his wages, I just don't think he's that good anymore. Besides he's not a Lambert type of signing anyway. Rather have Luke Murphy from Crewe.

I actually want Bent to stay. I know I'm probably in the minority but, I truly believe he can still contribute to AVFC. He's a proven goalscorer, I think last year he was also a little unlucky at times. The formation didn't help. We were very inconsistent for a large parts of the season and as a result he had very little supply. Then when we finally started to play some decent football he unfortunately got injured. I realise he'll most likely end up going anyway. His massive wages, could be used to strengthen the squad, but 18 months ago he was our saviour, I like to think he could be again.

I want him to stay, but If he goes, he goes. At least we will get a decent transfer fee which I trust Lambert will no doubt use wisely. Personally, I think he'll stay for at least next season, then depending on how well he does move after the WC.
