    Wages are down on last season in quite a big way and will only lower further and we gave McLeish £20 million, it's not far beyond the realms of possibility that in a rebuild year he's gonna get at least £30-£40 million if not more. True, however I suspect he'll demand that kind of financial backing every year. We can't keep reducing the wage bill indefinitely so were would the money come from then.

    The only thing going for Rafa IMO, is that he isn't Mcleish. I'd take Rodgers over him in a heart beat.

    Didn't Rafa turn us down last year because of the lack of funding? So, why would he come this year, when the squad is weaker and the finances are worse? I don't get, unless I've missed something...

    IMO Given is the best keeper we've had here in almost a decade. He arguably kept us up last season. We MUST keep him.

    I think he'll get the pool job personally. However if he was appointed Villa manager, I'd back him simply because he's not Mcleish.

    christ who gives a toss what teams they used to manage did you not get a bit sick of hearing that villa fans only hated mcleish because he was ex blues, despite us all know that it was because he was shit? Big Ron managed the baggies before he managed us, and he was far from shit!

    I'd be happy with either to be honest. Truth is, I'll be happy with anyone simply because they're not McLeish.

    I just hope Randy gives him sufficient funds to rebuild the squad. Most of our senior players lack the technique or the intelligence to play his brand of football IMO.

    I hope its not Solskjaer, just can't see the logic in it. We almost got relegated last season, so we rightly sack our manager but then replace him with a complete novice. Just don't get it, sorry. Still hope for a Lambert/Martinez/Rogers

    KMAC won't get it! I don't remember there being much 'vibrancy' about when we got thrashed by Newcastle. IMO he's definitely not the man to rejuvenate AVFC.

    Faulkner is a decent business man, he's 100% committed to Villa and has managed to generate a fare bit of extra income with his business acumen. His lack of 'footballing knowledge' would easily be overcome with the appointment of a decent DOF, IMO of course.
