Total rubbish. At times he was devastating last season. Perfect option to replace young. Great pace, good skills and can rip the back of the net out with some great shooting. Any bad points....of course which player doesnt but he improves all the time. Yeah he has the stroppy git label, and it's all his own fault. But he's knuckled down, got regular football at wigan and is ready for the next step. We are that step. Think he'll thrive here. +1 In any case, I don't think McLeish has the connections or knowledge of Europe to find any real gems. How did you come to that conclusion? Because he bought Zigic for £6M?

I don't think Downing will go this season but next. Same situation to Barry and Young. We keep hold of them for as long as possible, hope they change their minds, if not sell them at a profit with one year left on their contract.

I think the whole blackout thing, was to disguise the fact that we had already been in contact with Mcleish whilst he was still under contract at BCFC, and yes I think he was 'tapped up'.

I'd heard rumours before hand yes..... but since this all blew up.. from Villa side No not really. People who were formally connected to the club I can tell you are absolutely in shock at all this I can tell you. It's radio silence at VP as MM posted... Facebook post on protest page - rumour staff have had to sign non disclosure contracts not to name the manager... admittedly that was a FB rumour now that makes NO sense if true..if it's McCleish because the world & her aunty expect us to be sign him IMMINENTLY... There's so many things that simply don't add up as I've posted about before...... so yes the more I think about the whole affair, the more I get a strong hunch things are maybe not what they seem.... Maybe I'm totally wrong and if I am we'll just have to accept it all & get on with things cos there's not much we can do about it... But put it this way... how do you work that one out? More Premier league experience . Has managed to stay up two season in a row on lesser resources than McLeish. Whats his best position? How many relegations has he endured? At least Mick's team actually try to play football.

I think a lot will depend on our pre-season (which will be played out to empty stadiums). If we play some decent football people might come round. If we play Mcleish football, 25k is being generous. More like 2-5K!

Even that's six months to long! I honestly hope the board see sense and don't appoint McLeish. This whole saga is an embarrassment of monumental proportions and one from which the club the may never fully recover. You can't stir up a hornets nest and not expect to get stung!
