Just signed for Haverfordwest County in the Welsh Premier

I think the Spurs penalty is a perfect example of where the referee looking at it themselves again in discussion with VAR (preferably fans being privy to the conversation also) would benefit. VAR: "There was contact between defender and attacker" Ref: (Whilst viewing footage) "I saw the contact, I felt it was initiated by the attacker leaning in to the defenders challenge so didn't warrant a foul, and still do" VAR: "Ok stick with on field decision" OR VAR: "There was contact between defender and attacker" Ref: (Whilst viewing footage) "I didn't see that previously, I only saw contact defender made with the ball. Having seen it again I'm going to reverse my decision and award a penalty" As it is, the bloke in the booth has changed the decision, where as in the scenario above the ref may have seen the incident clearly and in his mind wasn't a foul, so not a 'clear and obvious' error. Incidents are being re-reffed by someone else. I just think if the VAR is going to look at the footage several times the Ref may as well look at it too, rather than everyone standing around waiting.

Exactly. So to offer him that just causes all other players to 'If he is worth that i must be worth at least x'

Lingard has signed a new contract £95,000 a week. Quite staggering really.

It's easy to come short to have the ball, then pass it back to where it came. It's because all that people want now is to 'keep the ball'. But if the opposition stay in position and let you come short, you then have to turn with the ball and run at them. If the marker follows you short, then by all means pass it back, but the next pass has to be into the space you vacated to a runner. But England don't pass into space and don't have willing runners, just players happy to stay in their position and pass backwards and sideways.

Gk: Sergio Romero Rb: Abate Lb: Marcell Jansen/Christian Fuchs Cb: Richards Dm: Mbia / Youseff Mulumbu Cm: Cleverley Wing: Sako/ Barnetta / Walters / Cuenca / Bakkali St: Gignac / Luiz Adriano / Wilson All of the above are out of contract this summer. Now I know some/most of the above would command high wages, I'm not saying we sign all those but in one or two key areas we could spend a bit. Replace Weimann with Wilson - upgrade N'zogbia with Cuenca - upgrade And both probably on less wages. I really think there could be some bargains out there to replace squad players and then spend a bit more on wages for the starting 11.

Measures all sorts. Heart rate being one. But speed, power. So they can measure the amount of work each player is going through so they can give rest to prevent injuries at the right time. Or so the theory goes.

Ashley "Jazz" Richards is a decent player for Swansea as well!! Not sure if serious??

Speculation January Transfer Speculation 2015
philwhitters replied to Supervillan78's topic in Villa Talk
live in Swansea. Gomis wants out. Not happy with not playing. If they can talk him around with his big chance now Bony is away remains to be seen. He probably will stay. But he could be possible to get. -
The RJW63 Official Jack Grealish Appreciation Thread
philwhitters replied to kevangrealish's topic in Other Football
He didn't perform brilliantly. BUT he was positive, when he got the ball he wanted to run and commit defenders. Yes he went to ground easily today, but he is a lightweight 19 year old, he will learn how to ride it or accept it etc. We never look to get in behind a defence, we just pass in front of them, at least with Grealish standing on the touchline, when we pass it to him 1 on 1 with the fullback he looks to run past him to get a cross in. I think he is worth longer on the pitch. -
I thought the first half was ok. We kept the ball quite well. But what we didn't have was someone making a run in behind to play a through ball, allowing Sunderland to sit there and just head away when we eventually lumped it into box. The men playing Benteke have got to see the space in the channels or when he drops deep in behind him. We will create more chances then.

When you win the toss, you no longer choose between taking kick off or an end. You only have the choice of which end you start. I guess most teams coming to VP don't care which end they are. Do away teams automatically come out shooting towards the holte?

Steve Clarke, Ray Wilkins and Rene Meulensteen. All successful number 2's and out of the game at the moment. Someone that can give a bit of confidence and enthusiasm. Like Sammy Lee has done his whole career. edit: i think Wilkins is in Jordan. Ooo err

All the Premier League pitches are the same size, I believe. I don't think so. They will be in the parameters provided in the laws. The Premier League may have a minimum and maximum or something similar. But not all pitches are the same size. I.e. Stoke making the pitch smaller for the long throw.

Speculation Transfer Speculation (Winter 2014)
philwhitters replied to Richard's topic in Villa Talk
After the end of this window and summer, I would like something like this to have happened: GK: Guzan / Steer / Siegriest RB: SIGNING (Richards??) / Lowton LB: SIGNING (Bertrand perm??) / Luna CB: Vlarr / Baker / Clark / Okore / Donacien DM: SIGNING (Mulumbu??) / Sylla CM: Delph / Westwood / El Ahmadi / Bacuna / Gardner AM: SIGNING (??) / Grealish / Carruthers Wide attacking players: Weimann / Agbonlahor / Tonev / Albrighton ST: Benteke / Kozak / Bowery / Helenius Out: Hutton / Bennett / Stevens / N'Zogbia / Herd / Bent I think four signings could provide us with a very good team and also a very good squad covering all positions. Another CM could be let go if Gardner is fit and performs. Possibly Baker could go also if Okore gets back to full fitness and also Donacien is up to being a Premier league player. Would also like another quality wide player instead of Tonev or Albrighton but don't think we would have that many changes over the next two windows (this Jan and summer). -
Couldn't he have taken a risk on our youngsters then rather then other club's youngsters? He could've then actually spent his money on trying to improve the first team. Baker and Wiemann are two problems for us right now, we don't have fantastic youth players as some think. Not fantastic no. But our youth could have been used, saving money to get 'better quality' elsewhere. Using Grealish instead of Tonev, Having Burke, Drennan or Robinson on the bench, instead of Bowery or Kozak for example. Although I think Kozak has a decent record, just doing this would have saved close to £8-10mill. To sign that 'Van Der Vaart' type signing which excites the fans and wins you games.
-
So the more expensive ones are some of the best. No shock there, (14m for those combined). 12 players remaining.. 26m spent, averaging around 2.1m each, you don't buy quality for that. And Laudrup has spent around £39m on 19 players, averaging £2m each. Also, what about his £7m marquee signing this summer? Think you will find Bony was closer to the £13-15mill range. Dreadful.

Lucky for us, Sunderland, West Ham, Fulham, Palace & Cardiff are all in the division this year and HOPEFULLY we will finish above three of those. Depressing. Very Depressing indeed. -

Speculation Transfer Speculation (Winter 2014)

De Brunye - on loan Richards - on loan, with view to signing Anderson - must be available for about 3-4mill. (i don't think he is outstanding, but does get forward from midfield, better than what we have, and is surely available) So with our current injuries you could play Guzan Lowton Richards Clark Luna Delph Westwood De Brunye Anderson Agbonlahor Kozak With Richards going to right back when Vlarr back, and Big CB up top. -

We just look so panicked when we have the ball at feet. As if we haven't thought about what we are going to do with it. -

Should try and get Sterling and/or Oxlade-Chamberlain in on loan (I know we don't like them) and point to the development of Kyle Walker. Take the pressure off (or put it on, depending how you view it) Weimann & Agbonlahor. If there is money available then the attacking/creative player would be lovely. -
Kasabian - Club Foot But as others have mentioned, possibly just a 'classic' tune with no words and stick with it. Like Everton have 'Z cars' etc.

Anyone else hopeful of a late one to come through????
