  1. banks like that are very heavily regulated. any dealings with a sanctioned country would make them liable for mega fines and worse - they wouldn't take that kind of risk just for a few fancy customers if farage received such payments whilst he was a customer of theirs, it would've likely resulted in an offboarding of him as a client so it could well have been the reason, or one of them anyway but coutts cannot disclose the reasons anyway...farage can, but is he just cherry picking bits and pieces to make them look bad?

it's not gone away. there's a reason sky sports turns replies off on their tweets about rainbow laces etc
  3. i'm going purely by the limited information available and pure guesswork: 1) I don’t want to lose my place on the main waiting list. - you might 2) Are we guaranteed to get 3 seats sitting together? - probably 3) Currently we sometimes bring our kids and just buy extra tickets in the Upper Trinity and all sit there together. How do I get round this? Can I buy extra tickets when kids want to come, or can I move to Upper Trinity for those games? - it's unclear whether you get the same privlages as other season ticket holders (it's been suggested you don't have ability to buy away tickets), including the sales window for buying additional tickets. regarding moving to the trinity for odd games, why would you pay the premium only to move for a number of games throughout the season? 4) Can I give the tickets to a friend when I can’t make it? - see question 3 - you might not be able to do that even though regular ST holders can edit: answer to question 1) is that you'll lose your waiting list place: https://www.avfc.co.uk/villa-park/the-terrace-view/
  4. Not keen on this fan account at all but has written a good summary to be fair
  5. exactly - i'm not sure how the KYC process operates with your barclays, lloyds, etc but i work for a large investment bank and have some experience with KYC operations...there's all sorts that flag up KYC alerts. i think in farage's case, it wouldn't just be his political beliefs, but negative media is also something that creates alerts on a client the fact that he's a politically exposed person (PEP) also means he probably has a heightened level of risk for the bank
  6. @LancsVillan or @tomsky_11 i think you've organised these in the past? last year there were 2 leagues - myself and @a-k were 1st and 2nd in the VT2 league (and to be honest i think we were the only ones really playing from what i could see) - are you looking to run this again this season? quite keen to be part of VT1 this season as it wasn't much fun playing against just 1 other person! happy to run it if you don't have time, just want to make sure the usual players are included!

i looked through the squad list and thought "no notable absentees aside from the injured players" and didn't even clock that thing is he wasn't an emery signing as has been reported multiple places...i think he gave the OK though on the basis of "well another forward can't hurt"
  8. said it on another thread, i really don't get this far right opposition to stopping climate change. it's quite bizarre.

  10. in fairness to bardell he did counter a lot of what evans was saying with a positive in that podcast (i seem to recall he stopped short of really criticising purslow? maybe i'm remembering wrong) but it was clear that there was a villa fan that was delighted with where we currently are and where we could possibly go, alongside was a non villa fan that understandably wasn't quite as giddy. it was the first time (IMO) that it's ever come across clearly that evans is a fan of a rival club...there was almost an element of bitterness in his voice i reiterate, i don't dislike evans, but i'm looking forward to seeing where the 1874/villa view podcast goes now (i see bardell has done a podcast which will be out soon with the claret n blue lot where that question might get answered)
  11. seeing as we're keeping the tone low, what's worse - desperate for a onesie or desperate for a twosie? my vote is the latter
  12. for what? so you can eat your tea at the same time?
  13. I'm fully aware I'm massively in the minority but I don't mind the guy
  14. i suspect the first time newcastle do it, they loophole will be closed
  15. if the salary offered was 20 or 30k a week more in saudi than us, yes, the best competitions are a factor in his decision when the salary offered is more than double what we're offering, that changes things.
  16. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-11145327/Watford-accused-working-16M-Hassane-Kamara-deal-sister-club-Udinese.html they're smaller teams, so there's obviously going to be less outrage. similar to why the bournemouth - l'orient link has gone under the radar too newcastle are one of the richest teams in the world now and could circumvent FFP by signing players via the saudi league - the scale is quite different
  17. eddie howe has been quoted as not ruling out loans from the saudi clubs too. loans/transfers between clubs owned by the same people need looking at. bournemouth and l'orient are doing the same it's like when you played Championship Manager and made yourself manager of 2 clubs to sell their best players to yourself

    The NSWE Board

why does this surprise you? you seem genuinely shocked and hurt by it all. did you really think the owners were just going to keep pumping money into the club, watch us climb the league, and not make any price increases? we want success. to have success you need to pay for it. otherwise, why do we bother?

    Global Warming

i feel for people who have had children, i really do because this is just going to get worse. the US really aren't going to do anything if the republicans regain power.

    Global Warming

this is the problem. the current government are only concerned with remaining in power and labour are only interested in getting into power. something radical, for example, like the rationing of meat and/or petrol & diesel would cause such outcry that it would damage either party's election prospects...so they're not going to do it it's the one argument i have for a dictatorship system..."this is what's happening, deal with it...our kids will thank us"
