  1. Would be an alright pickup on a free. Played under Emery before and we could do with a right-footed forward.
  2. https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2024/may/10/villa-store-set-to-close-for-improvements-following-final-home-game-of-the-season/
  3. Clearly playing through the pain barrier too, that knee's been strapped up for a few weeks.
  4. The funniest possible outcome will be Spurs losing to Burnley then beating Man City
  5. Exactly. Conte and Mourinho both have a much, much better track record against Man City than your typical manager (both have won more than they've lost against Pep): Ange isn't proven in this regard. Plus, Spurs lost to City at home this season in the League Cup...
  6. The positivity is that we're 2 games away from the end of the season and we're 4th. 4th! That's f'ing incredible! The football gods historically crap on us? If anything, we've almost had plot armour these past 5 years with what we've been doing: somehow getting some of the best owners in the world as opposed to asset stripping chancers during our darkest moment, the incredible run to get playoff promotion, the Sheffield United non-goal helping to keep us up, Europe on the final day last season. Burnley have lost 2 in 9 and will be fighting for their lives. Hardly 'gift wrapped' points for a Spurs that have looked lost lately. Then they're up against a Man City having their annual unstoppable end of season form. Relax, see what happens. And the permutations are all moot if we grab a single point against an inconsistent Liverpool or a Palace that will probably be on the beach.
  7. He was our main attacking outlet tonight. Probably genuinely our 7th choice: everyone else was injured. Obviously he's not going to be very effective. A shame, really.
  8. If we discounted all the games where we got points we'd have zero points. Makes you think
  9. If we had just a few of Tielemans/Rogers/Ramsey/Zaniolo/Buendia we would have gone to the final tonight imo. Had no options to shake it up with attacking midfielders who offer variety and quality in attack: Cash being the key target tonight speaks for itself with how we're pretty much down to our 6th/7th choice of attacking outlet. Of course we're going to be ineffective, no team in the world could handle that It's unlucky. It happens. Onwards we go, almost at the finish line. 53 games and so, so many injuries.
  10. Given what this thread is like tonight I think Spurs got 3 points from Villa vs Olympiacos?
  11. Most factually correct Graeme Bailey slop
  12. That's a good shout. Would make sense as to why they'd steer from putting that in the Holte
  13. I like it. With a massive exception for the badges.
  14. The badges are still dire, but the rest... I'm listening.
  15. I'm not too sure to be honest, all he said was "we are going to put LED everywhere but the Holte End". If I were to guess he's probably referring to redoing the lighting within the stands?
  16. Villa Park development plans per the Heck and Gabby interview: No plans to leave Villa Park Promises to not touch the Holte End too much: will install rail seating and 'more seats' but 'not going to change the banners' Work around the rest of the stadium over the next two summers to add seats, will install LEDs everywhere but Holte End 'Reimagine our premium seating' Superstore, Concert Venue and all round 'Entertainment Zone' (aim to have fans stick around before and after games) Welcoming the Villa players was a success, will be more of that going forward including club legends etc. Working on the train situation, already implemented the shuttle buses
  17. Not surprising that we have London offices now for our commercial operations, it's definitely not a new thing for big non-London football clubs. Both the Manchester clubs and Liverpool also have offices down in London. With how the UK financially is ridiculously London-centric it's just the way it is. On a similar note (as a lot of the commercial work goes on down in London now), Chris Heck loves his Vice Presidents: we already publicly announced several as part of the 'Senior Leadership Team' last year. Since then, I'm sure he's hired/promoted at least 3 more: within 'Corporate Partnerships', 'Global Partnerships' and 'Business Development'. Which brings the number of VPs up to at least 5. I do start to get the impression that Mr. Heck loves his partnership divisions.
  18. It's an odd one. Seems that the author's spoken to Wes directly, probably as best a source as you could get, yet there are some details that are definitely a bit dubious: particularly the Lower Grounds bit which doesn't really add up.
  19. https://as.com/futbol/primera/el-aston-villa-estuvo-presente-en-la-exhibicion-de-baena-ante-el-rayo-n/?ssm=TW_CC
  20. A lot of Blues fans coping about this. Apparently, all PR is good PR, they're massive, and they'll get tons of revenue and new fans from this clip. If Randy Lerner was sat in public laughing and joking about Villa's relegation, I don't think we'd be happy about it: nor would the supporters of any remotely serious club.
  21. Even Rishi has been coming out with the Bold Strategy of saying that these results mean Labour might only get a hung parliament. Not only is it a massive lie, it's a comment that exclusively benefits Labour as it will prevent complacency. There is literally nothing the Tories could gain from saying this. At this point that the Tories have just resorted to saying literally anything to get them from one news cycle to the next, no matter how bizarre or damaging.
