  1. He's got the Villa bug. Fair enough.
  2. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/unai-emery-calls-championship-player-28917743
  3. Another very strong performance today. I'm not sure how much longer Emery can keep referring to him as a Championship player during training!
  4. Pretty much all of his touches today were Get him the ball and he will do things.
  5. Do any of Leicester, Leeds or Ipswich want promotion? Each team is losing left, right and centre but nothing's changing because so are the others!
  6. There were a number of very specific share issues into Villa's Companies House firms that were definitely converted from US dollars, so I think you're right in that there was a connection.
  7. I found this line from Angelakis to be particularly interesting: even if it's just connecting dots that aren't there. Growth of the Premier League being the first thing that comes to mind? He makes it sound as if Atairos already have a stake in the Premier League's success before this deal, like if two massive media companies under the same umbrella were directly tied to the fortunes of the Prem.
  8. It's around 20%, per the FT article that interviewed Sawiris. The article said that the deal valued Villa at above £500m, so they've presumably paid upwards of £100m to get on board.
  9. 'up to 3 weeks' said Emery 2 weeks ago.
  10. I think this thread is a competition to see how many different ways people can say that he's got bundles of potential. Did pretty well today, bar possibly the worst backpass I think I've seen in years
  11. Fingers crossed he's back imminently. Don't really rate the Pau-Carlos CB partnership.
  12. Will be dependent on the Man City and Arsenal second legs next week then.
  13. On the bench, so that's good news.
  14. Tory MP endorses Lee Anderson (Reform Party) at the next election. Party discipline at an all time high.
  15. It's never as simple as this, but their two harder games, against Coventry and Norwich, are both at home. Meanwhile, their must win games against Rotherham and Huddersfield are both away: but it's their away from that's put them in this position in the first place, with just 12 points from 21.
  16. Same amount of points in their last ten games as Rotherham (4). I imagine their away game at Huddersfield will decide whether they go down. They've won 1 in their last 10 away games...
