I like Mark Williams. Excellent potter and a real character. I'd love to see him go and win it again but can't see it. He is struggling in his 1st round match atm.

There were posters claiming he was good enough to play in the Prem as well so I suppose some posters counter to that was to claim he was a lower league player. Which he is. He's hardly tearing it up in the 2nd tier and I'd be shocked if he ever kicked a ball in the top flight again.

Flicking between Arsenal game and the snooker but Arsenal look like they have run out of steam. Won't be long now until the cheats are top. With this game, the snooker and then Forest v Man United , it's a good day of sport. Now come on Forest!

Just getting him off the wage bill would be enough. Wasn't close to being good enough for a bottom 6 PL club so not a chance he will ever pull on a Villa shirt again given where we are now. Thank goodness!

Started yesterday. Robertson looking strong with back to back centuries, including a rare 146. Fancy Mark Allen to go far in this one, although it's always hard to look past Ronnie for the title.

If Arsenal don't win the title, which I never suspected they would at any point, then nobody wins it. Man City's trophies don't count so in that respect it may be the preferable outcome in any case.

The atmosphere is nothing like the men's game. I don't mean noise levels, I mean the sound of it. It's very different.

I also notice the all female commentary and the all female punditry. No need for a quota to fit the narrative this way around then?

Just flicked over to see the women are on TV. It sounds like the game is being played in a public swimming baths, or a school playground. Bizarre "atmosphere", but I don't watch women's football so not sure if that's normal.

Really need Man United to lose today. As unlikely as it is to catch them, beating them in 2 weeks brings it down to a 3 point gap as things stand.

Just noticed Chelsea are doing a terrible job at looking after our old 11th placed home. We should have explained that you have to actually win some games in order to stay there! Palace are just 3 points behind them as it stands and in much better form. If there were more games left than there are, Chelsea would be in trouble but the looks of things. Shame.

Last time I saw us beat Newcastle 3-0 was on the same day the Pope died in 2005. Their keeper today was Pope. Random fact and no idea what made me remember it but there we go. (The game of the Bowyer/Dyer fight.)
