  1. There is not a hope in hell of finishing 6th. We will not be finishing above Liverpool/Brighton AS WELL as Spurs. The question is, can we pip Spurs to 7th? I think no. Our form has dropped off lately and we have no reinforcements. Especially upfront, where Duran looks exactly as I'd expect an unproven teenager from the MLS to look. 8th at best, 9th at worst I think.
  2. The best thing about Villa under Emery is that we know he will be doing everything possible to make sure heads don't drop after a setback. He will be hurting more than anyone but he will channel that frustration into making us better next week. The players will be getting drilled (insert Kenneth gif) all this week l, looking at what we need to improve on. I'm confident we will bounce back. Although Europe is definitely a stretch. There's always next season if we don't make it this season and this time, we really can look forward to it.
  3. You say "again" like he hasn't scored 11 goals in 13 games. Tough place to go and we were never gonna play possession football.
  4. The high line worked at Spurs and Chelsea but was never gonna get thru 90 mins here. They are a good side. Need a response but if anyone can do it is Don Unai.
  5. Right then. What minute is their first penalty/dodgy VAR decision? I'll go 18 mins.
  6. Yep. Finishing above Spurs is our only realistic hope of getting 7th and a place in Europe. A point against Man United today and Spurs losing would be an excellent weekend. As for Brighton, the amount of disrespect they are shown on these forums is unbelievable. They are apparently "very likely" to struggle bevauer they've got to play the top 4. People have clearly not been paying attention. Brighton are an excellent side who bounced back from their blip at Forest with bigger win than we've had in over a decade. I cannot see how they won't finish above us. Liverpool have found form and have a fairly easy run in and they too will likely finish above us. That just leaves Spurs and we need to be in a position to be able to go above them when we play them but even then, we still have to play Liverpool and Brighton as well as an away derby. I've never thought we would get Europe and still don't, we were starting from way too far back, meaning we need to win every game and that's just not viable. The amount of backslapping and "told you so's" on this forum after we beat Newcastle was really unnerving and way too premature. Not saying we can't finish 7th, just that it's unlikely and I for one won't be annoyed at the players if we miss out as its been a hell of a season.* *I will blame Gerrard though.
  7. He'd be getting the same amount of gametime as he gets currently. None. Not a chance he would play ahead of any of our players. (Maybe he could rival Olsen as number 2 but thats about it.)
  8. No. If we beat Man United is a huge IF and even then we would be effectively 4 points behind them with us having 4 games left and them having 6. We needed Man United to beat Spurs. This is a bad result.
  9. Never, ever, ever would I have any sympathy for Spurs or their fans. Ever. I can't think of a fan base LEAST deserving of sympathy. Well, maybe one....
  10. I agree but that's not what I meant. I meant it doesn't matter if they were a game in hand or not.
  11. But as you mentioned Southampton I replied to that as I think they will beat them.
  12. I was replying to the poster who said it was one of their games in hand. Not that it matters which way they play the games of course.
  13. Ha. That's about as good a game in hand as you could possibly wish for. Southampton are absolutely dreadful and there's a good reason they are fighting for survival.
  14. He'd make a decent basketballer tbf. Not hand ball tho obviously. It's an absolute disgrace.
  15. As it stands Brighton are 1 point behind us with 3 games in hand. Not a chance we will be finishing above them if they win this. Not that it was likely anyway. As I keep saying, we need to finish above Spurs to finish in 7th.
  16. Ha true. Point stands though. You can't demand refunds just because you don't like the result.
  17. Really? So when they beat Man United 6-1 at Old Trafford, did the Spurs fans contact the club to make an extra payment for performing way above expectations? Of course they didn't and nor should they. It's entertainment at the end of the day and you win some, you lose some. Demanding refunds is disgusting.
  18. Huge game tonight. Let's hope West Ham win it. Certainly wont be watching the Cheat FC wankfest that's for sure. (Tho I'm sure I'll be reading how amazing "city" and "Pep" are) If Liverpool drop points tonight then you'd have to expect the pressure to build on them. Come on you 'Ammers!
  19. Let's hope you are right. However I expect they will get 5 points or more from the 4 games in hand and that will take them above us, whilst we have to go to Man United and Liverpool.
  20. Yep. And in the interest of fairness and balance, I fully expect the Spurs fans to pay double after their next victory. Entitled p****s.
