  1. They used put 10 men behind the ball at VP and play for a 0-0. Unless my memory is playing tricks on me, they did that the day of the Fergie time Bruce game v Sheff Weds. We dropped 2 points and United blagged all 3 and never looked back.
  2. Just as the Prem is about to get rid of a Midlands team, who nobody gives a shit about despite them being desperate for a rival, along come Coventry.
  3. Just when you thought the powers that be had done enough to make sure these pricks prosper, they ban Toney just as they are about to play Brentford. Lol
  4. What game? EDIT: Just checked and genuinely had no idea. Logged on to VT and saw the notification Tbf I don't watch CL football anyway generally, unless I'm at a game for work. And that certainly wouldn't be a game that involves these rocket polishers.
  5. Haha. Maybe he will just end up signing for us because of "ferrandipity".
  6. Brentford seem to have replacements immediately lined up every time they sell a player. Watkins/Toney for example. Their scouting network is pretty impressive.
  7. Good away day as well with plenty of away pubs in the town centre and an easy walk to the ground. But as you say, oh well...
  8. But we ARE gonna be in Europe and suggesting otherwise is just being negative and pessimistic etc etc...
  9. Is there a reason why there are so many pages on this player? Like an actual credible link? So many players get their own threads without there ever being a likely transfer and this seems like another one to me. Isn't the point of a player having their own thread outside of the transfer speculation thread, that there is a deal close or done? I cannot for the life of me imagine Ferran Torres would choose to come here and I can't find anything at all to give any credibility to the contrary. In fact, everything I've read suggests he wants to stay at Barcelona. This thread just seems like wishful thinking to me. Have I missed something?
  10. That bad that they will lose 4 0 at home to Brentford? I disagree but I guess we'll find out soon enough.
  11. So do I, but they are still in the top 7 despite being in turmoil so my point is that they aren't all that bad a side. Despite the current narrative.
  12. The poster said they could see a situation where we are happy with a one goal loss so I assumed they meant a plausible scenario. Spurs aren't going to lose 4-0 at home to Brentford. I'm pretty sure about that. For all the negativity about Tottenham, they are actually above us. So they can't be that bad.
  13. In what scenario would that happen? Even if we lose by 1 goal, our goal difference would mean we wouod have to hammer Brighton. Even if Spurs lose as well. If we are counting on goal difference then we are screwed as one thing I'm certain of is that we aren't finishing above Spurs on goal difference.
  14. Yep. He is exactly the kind of player Everton would sign for 50 million and on big wages. But with Rice leaving West Ham, that would be an obvious move on paper.
  15. Fair enough. But generally speaking, both of those clubs have done a great job at buying at low cost and integrating quality players. I think Duran is miles away from being ready for the PL tho.
  16. Theu were signed to play in the first team. I think Duran is only even on the bench because we literally have nobody else. He was bought for the future and will go out on loan soon enough.
  17. If we are serious about pushing the top 6 then Dendoncker and Iroegbunam should be nowhere near the team. We really need to upgrade on a good few of our squad if we want to go places and those 2 would be am obvious place to start.
  18. Can't see this project having a happy outcome. The only reason we may not move him on is because of his high wages. Any buying club/free transfer will want us to pay a decent percentage of that I'm sure.
  19. Tbf that's not really a fair comparison. Brentford and Brighton tend to sign players that are ready to slot right in and they do it impressively. Duran is nowhere near ready for the PL and I fully expect him to go on loan for a season or 2.
  20. And not one of them could have been as blatant as the ones not given against them for Brighton. They may well end up in Europe ahead of us with the points they scammed from that game.
  21. Man City "winning" anything doesn't count so it's another year without a Premier League winner as far as I'm concerned. Arsenal were never going to win it and whilst they will see it as a missed opportunity, I think the reality is that 2nd was the best they could really hope for. You can't compete with cheats.
  22. Worst thing is, Spurs fans don't even want the Europa Conference and yet we'd give anything for it. The arrogant, deluded arses.
  23. We could win both and finish 8th or take just 1 more point and finish 7th. Need to try and win them both really. As I suspect Spurs will get at least 4 points.
  24. Brighton aren't our concern so it makes no difference what Man City do.
