  1. I’m torn about Villa Live. By all means, seems like a great meeting spot for fans before a match. But I highly doubt it will ever live up to the vibe of Aston Tavern the night I went to the Villa/Citeh match. It was so cool, I felt like I was surrounded by hundreds of people whose routine is to come have a couple pints before heading to watch the Villa. One big family. And when Citeh’s team news came out… I will never forget it. So many whispers of “he’s not starting” and “he’s on the bench.” It reverberated through the entire building. Jack wasn’t starting against us.
  2. USA (obviously), Canada, England, Italy, Jamaica. Not nearly enough.
  3. On top of the recommendations above (stay in Florence, there isn’t a ton to see in Pisa), I would highly recommend Siena. Mrs MNVillan and I took a day trip there and were blown away by its beauty. When we return it will be where we stay, it’s just so gorgeous.
  4. Yikes, I didn’t expect to start all of this. I should probably clear it up. I don’t despise Jack as a person, nor as a footballer. It was the wrong word. I wish him no ill will. I do despise the decision he made, stringing the fanbase along. But as others have pointed out, it’s probably more the fault of modern football than Jack himself.
  5. Agreed, I think he’s handled it about as well as he could have, outside of popping up to a public training session in preseason when he already had one foot out the door (which I’m not sure was even his decision, anyway). Wrote a public note to the fans when he left, gave a round of applause to the VP fans upon his return, has only said good things about Villa in public. I despise him for what he did to us, but deep down I know that if he ever returns to us I’ll love him again. fwiw (which is nothing), I think if he does return it’ll be in the next couple of seasons on some sort of restructured contract. I don’t think our owners will want someone who is past it, and I can’t see him as a player who is useful into their mid 30s like Ashley Young.

Doing us proud so far today. Really impressive
  7. He seems like a good soul off the pitch. That being said, I’ve walked past trees smarter than him.
  8. Two years ago now I made a similar move from the Twin Cities up to Duluth, MN on the tip of Lake Superior. Not sure I could ever go back to the actual urban area.
  9. Happy with a draw, but frankly the USA looked better today
  10. I’m a proud American and will be cheering enthusiastically for the USMNT. That being said, we’re going to get beat like a drum tomorrow.

    Unai Emery

He’ll need some patience, but not “time.” There will inevitably be a clunker or two on the way, but unlike other regimes he won’t need a transfer window and months to implement his system. Unai seems comfortable working with what he’s got.
  12. Absolutely ******* not. Nothing to do with badgers. My American friends might get this.
  13. Better stuff than we have now, obviously

Ahh, same. Us central time zone Villans have to stick together.

Did he ban brown sauce? If so, would’ve given him a lifetime contract. That stuff is horrible
  16. Hell yeah, I’m happy to hear that you’re a month sober! I went through a 6 month stretch when I decided I needed to be sober, and AA helped me a lot. Glad you’re enjoying it, and keep up the good fight!
  17. Going to let Poch pick his favorite in exchange for becoming our manager
  18. Nearby, fierce thunder can shake your soul. Back in 2017 I had a crack so loud that it set off a car’s burglary alarm outside my house. I’ll never forget it.
  19. Yeah, I do. Not looking to get in an argument, just saying that at least some people believe it. It’s also fine that you don’t
