I actually thought the same thing about 6, but it could easily be 7 as well. Both give off similar vibes to this year’s shirt.

Great shades of claret, but the blue is far too light.

Not only the claret changes, so does the blue. 4 is far too light, and 8/9 is too dark.

God willing, I will wake up 1 month alcohol free in the morning. That probably hasn’t truly happened in a decade.

Fwiw, the 76ers introduced one of the (imo) best brands in the NBA under Chris Heck. He joined the organization in 2013 and the brand was revealed in 2014.

Last trip to Minnesota was in mid-July and we played in our new home strip. In fact, we released the away kit at a fan event while over here. Looking at our PL Summer Series schedule, we have no reason to wear anything other than our home strip in America. We are the “away” team for matches against Newcastle and Fulham, and the “home” team against Brentford. That being said, I would expect us to wear the away strip at least once, if only to drive sales.

I agree, I don’t think VP or Bodymoor for that matter have to be re-branded for the new kit launch. The club store will need to be entirely flipped though, and any remaining merch with the old badge will need to be removed. Maybe somebody local who has popped by the shop lately can speak to its current state. The online shop still has loads of stuff with the old badge on it, which will also need to be removed and replaced.

They also need to get rid of everything with the old badge. Once they launch the new one, basically everything on the site becomes obsolete

Martinez is on record saying he wants European football. Chelsea can’t provide that this season

The RJW63 Official Jack Grealish Appreciation Thread
MNVillan replied to kevangrealish's topic in Other Football
There is at least one bit of evidence that points towards it… it seems apparent that once Jack takes his first drink, he’s not stopping until his body literally starts shutting down. He’s had sleepless nights, days-long benders, etc. And maybe that is only happening while he’s in public celebrating. Maybe he’s capable of sitting in front of the TV and having a couple beers. I don’t know. But when he’s in public, he’s drinking until he can’t anymore. This is one of the biggest differences between a regular drinker and an alcoholic. Once an alcoholic has that first drink touch their lips, they lose all control and only want more. Again, I’m not claiming that Jack is certainly an alcoholic. I’m just saying that there are worrying signs of what he does while drinking in public. Whether his public celebration behaviors are due to exceptional circumstances or manifestations of trends that are happening more often in private is a question only those close to Jack will know. So yes, it’s unfair to label Jack as an alcoholic. But it’s also not a leap to say he has displayed risky drinking behavior in public on multiple occasions. -
The RJW63 Official Jack Grealish Appreciation Thread
MNVillan replied to kevangrealish's topic in Other Football
As an alcoholic myself, it’s darn near impossible for any of us to tell if he is. Does he crave it? Does he act on those cravings? Is it affecting his daily life? Those are questions that nobody other than Jack himself and a few people very close to him will know the answer to. And to the plenty of people will say “he’s a top level footballer, of course it isn’t affecting his daily life.” The term “functional alcoholic” exists for a reason. Alcoholism is a progressive disease. He may be able to control his urges now (one thing that does seem obvious is that he has serious urges to drink - he’s always the one most wasted at these celebrations). However, when he’s retired at 35 with limitless wealth and nothing else to do… who knows where it leads. He has shown patterns of risky behavior for years now. Excessive celebrations, slipping off to McCormack’s house during Covid, etc. That’s not saying he currently is or trending towards becoming an alcoholic. It’s just a red flag that he may be at higher risk than the regular bloke in his twenties who likes some pints on the weekends. Sorry mods if this is inappropriate for the thread. I’m happy for Jack, I think he deserves to celebrate and hope for his sake that’s all the past few days have been - a celebration. -

That’s really sad to see. I’m in full support of celebrating achievements, but holy hell what is he doing to himself? In a career where your most valuable asset is your body, he’s not keeping very good care of his. Plus, that’s not the result of normal drinking behavior. -
We need another option to complement Ollie. I certainly wouldn’t sell him, but a more clinical out-and-out striker would be hugely beneficial. A better version of what Ings was brought in to be. Ollie is great against teams who stretch the pitch, where he is given room to run in behind and press the defense. However, he struggles against sides that sit back and defend, which will become a more frequent strategy for opponents should we continue to get better. People mentioning here that he has confidence issues if not the main #1, which I agree he has in the past, but I trust Emery can sit him down and talk him through the situation without destroying his confidence. Especially if we’re playing 50+ matches per season, he can’t play them all.

Oh no way, I love it. I’d be a happy man if our away kit was green/red/black every year. The third shirt from our first season back in the Prem was a thing of beauty

After 15 days of treatment, I get to go home tomorrow. I’ll still be going through outpatient treatment and my goal is to hit 60 AA meetings in 60 days. Honestly, I learned a ton here and met some very nice people who can relate to my disease. Nothing is a given, but I am equipped with the tools I need to stay away from alcohol. Funnily enough, I found out Ozzy Osbourne was in this same exact treatment center at one point.

Thanks, I did not know that. I’m sure they have navy shorts as “alternates” they can wear, so I’ll be curious how many times they actually play at home in all white.

I have been enjoying the hell out of Super Mario Odyssey during my down time in Alcohol Rehab.

Quite like that

Any idea when the full new branding will be revealed? It was supposed to be the last match of the season, although obviously that hasn’t happened (more important things going on for that match). It must be done pretty soon though… not only do we need to release the kits but also change everything throughout VP, Bodymoor, etc and that stuff takes time.

pretty excited for this
