Three to four matches in, it seems we are definitely better than: Fulham, West Brom, Sheffield U, Burnley. That’s us 16th. We are likely better than: Brighton, Palace, West Ham. That’s us 13th. We are arguably better than: Leeds, Newcastle, Southampton. That’s us 10th. Wolves and Man U also seem vulnerable. These are big assumptions, and who knows what the season will bring in terms of adversity and future transfers. But i don’t think a single digit finish is out of the question.

Liverpool came in tonight expecting a win, and expected Villa to roll over and defend once winning. When Villa kept going forward they seemed thoroughly unprepared. Outside of the Champions League Knock-out rounds and maybe Man City in the league, nobody makes them defend for a full 90 minutes. We kept pressing, and they seemed shocked. I’m not trying to say Liverpool underestimated us. They are simply used to a “score one and park the bus” strategy against league opponents. We made them play the length of the pitch for the entire match, and they are so good and have such an aura about them that they don’t have a ton of experience doing that.

That has to do with mindset more than anything. They don’t have to work hard, they’re better than everyone else.

If any of them get thumped soundly, it’s the kiss of death.

Long way to go, but if we stay the course it seems like we should finish in a single digit spot in the table. I genuinely think Europe is a possibility.

I would think it would be postponed. Salah was training with the team yesterday, so unless they can test everyone and find 14 who come back negative by tomorrow morning, there’s no way they would play. Would rather have the match postponed than playing it and having half our squad come down with COVID next week.

Genuine question, haven’t been to Brum (yet, plans are in the works). Do they seriously struggle for attendance or is this just a Villa fan joke? I know that Villa dominate the city, but surely a championship club who have had a couple cups of tea in the Prem have some sort of (stupid) following?

Yeah, I don’t know anything about the guy, but felt genuinely bad for him walking back to the dressing room at HT against us. What he’s working with compared to other PL doesn’t make it a fair fight.

Have not but looks sharp. Gone after one of the quarter zips for training and I absolutely love it. Solid quality this year, massive upgrade from last year. Usually I’m a US large, went XL and fits well.

Believe it just happened with Traore, but how often are signings announced on a match day? Thats a genuine question. Seems like even if a deal is done, might be smart to hold off an announcement until a non-match day to generate additional interest in the activities of the club.

Have to think that 6 points from 2 league games this season has made the persuasion a little bit easier as well. Dean and co. can tell players all they want “this year will be different,” but it becomes much more believable with some evidence to back it up.
