I’d be fine with a white away kit if it was paired with non-claret & blue accents. I know that might be sac-religious, but we wear claret, blue, and white at home and away matches where it doesn’t clash. if it was, say, white shirt and socks with purple shorts and monochrome badge I’d be on board with it. Come to think of it, isn’t purple the color of royalty? Would be appropriate considering the future King of England is a supporter.

I think Kappa have done some unique stuff, tbf. The baby blue away and green third kit last season both had unique patterns with a nod to VP. This year’s third kit had a camo pattern based on a map around Birmingham. Could be much worse. Adidas kits all look the same to me. Nike stuff is very template-y too. They each put a ton of effort into their top 5 or so clubs, everyone else gets a template and spins a wheel to see what color their away shirt would be.

My favorite thread every year! Please, for the love of all that is holy, put just the lion on the away or third shirt. No badge. Liverpool does it and it looks great. The lion with the star without the badge would look so good. No white, please.

My takeaway from the highlights was that from their pen all the way until maybe 75 minutes we were on the back foot. Had some chances ourselves, but seemed like they had more. Of course the highlights might not reflect the actual flow of the match.

I’ve just watched the 15 minute extended highlights available here in USA. Thought Barkley was okay tbf, but obviously the highlights won’t show if he was slacking about when Villa were off the ball. How the heck did Baggies get so many good chances? I’m concerned for our midfield - teams should have to earn chances to get around our box, and it seems like this relegation fodder was there too often. Not a penalty at all by Konsa. I’d say I’m surprised VAR upheld that, but I’m not. It seems like the team still cares and isn’t on the beach, but aren’t willing to do the nitty gritty stuff that makes a difference in matches. They want it, they just don’t want to work for it.

A defeat was absolutely the expected result, they’re probably the top team in Europe. It was kind of sad how easy it looked for them. What i took from today is that the majority of our XI are middle of the table quality. Konsa and Ollie are Europa League quality. Jack and Emi are Champions League quality.

Normally I don’t drink at 2 in the afternoon, but I have the day off of work and the feeling that I might need a little bit of whiskey to get through this one. I came away from this ESL saga thinking I respect Man City the most out of the Scum 6 (although I still don’t respect them much). They seemed most hesitant about the idea and were quick to jump ship. That being said, they still were involved and for that deserve a proper thrashing. They won’t get it from us, though. Whatever. I’ll be watching and as long as the boys put in a good shift I won’t be too upset. Just make us proud. A pre-match reminder that we’re the only club on the pitch that has conquered Europe would be nice.

I honestly watch very little professional sports. I’ll watch the playoffs if one of my Minnesota teams are in it, but I find it tough to watch any NBA, NFL, MLB, or NHL regular season games. And I wouldn’t tune in for a second if it had a PPV element associated with it. Only regular season games that are appointment TV for me are MNUFC matches.
