  1. where is the good new on either side? not sure its a shit sandwich, its just a bowl of shit!?
  2. I think we are on course for getting the ACL Champions League winners medal in 23/24, do you think we will manage it? Current ACL performance. Buendia Mings kamara We are pretty elite tbh, Kamara even did a walk off the pitch ACL injury, just like Trez, its nice that we let our ACL champs walk off the pitch like bosses, our medical team is too manly to carry our players off the pitch, we just let them try and walk a 9-12 month injury off down the tunnel, truly a medically advised and manly thing to do! Do you think anyone can beat us to this title in 23/24?, seems we might have the mentality to achieve great things in the ACL stakes. I believe we can do it, we are having great success so far. I knew we would win something this year!!!
  3. i would bet money that he isnt yet at the point where Emery would remotely trust him as a PL starter. Luiz is the clear choice to drop in to that DM role, with McGinn, Tielemans or maybe even Rogers going to that no.8 role.
  4. i will guess that Luiz drops to the no.6, and Tielemans, McGinn, or maybe even Rogers could play the no.8 role in the midfield duo. We are a bit thin on the ground though. i dont see Timmy as being ready or trusted to start week in, week out tbh.
  5. doubt it. He's the Yorkshire Pirlo. Pirlo from Yorkshire doesnt think such things.
  6. i highly doubt it, he's now a senior player playing in the PL, on a full senior contract, who was sold for millions already. what we buy him back for, will surely be part of our FFP budget.
  7. i agree it would be a collapse. i know its a small cross section, but our last 6 games in the PL, we have averaged 1.33 PPG, so basically for the last 25% of this season in the PL, we are averaging 1.33 PPG. i get that its not realistic to cover just the last 6 games, as in the last 48 PL games we have averaged 1.98 PPG. 1.33 for the last 6, isnt good form tho.
  8. i suppose the main positive to take here, is that we kept Poch in a job for another few week at least.
  9. would this be the first home game we havent scored under Emery?
  10. does make you wonder whats going on, seems we have been found out, and some of our players cant perform at the 110% they had been doing for the previous 12 months. it does re-highlight some of our weaknesses in the first 11 tbh.
  11. this isnt luck though, the same with Newcastle, we let them play well, we let them get on the front foot and do what they want to do. its the kind of thing we used to do pre-Emery, which was to be passive, roll over and let teams tickle our tummy. We just havent seen it for over a year (until our recent poor-ish 10 game run).
  12. i would guess McGinn would be pure profit in terms of income, as the only cost he is to us currently is his wages etc, as you say, his tiny fee has almost certainly gone off the books now, especially as he has signed at least one new contract since he joined? i would guess Konsa, Mings, Hause & Luiz would also be pure profit, or very close to it, as they have been here close to 5 years, i would assume their amortization is in its final year (or already complete), and from the summer they will effectively class as pure profit for any fees we could receive for any of them?
  13. will be like any other player, becuase we paid a fee for him, so any future sale wont be pure FFP profit, like a developed youth player.
  14. tbf he was nursing an injury, which is why he didnt start.
  15. thats a good point re not set in stone, that would cause issues i guess, i would say its "possible", but as you imply, "possible" isnt the same as "practical", or even "viable". i guess the only way to know would be for someone to liaise with the train company and see what they got back. i dont know the train/carriage lengths, or the platform length, so i couldnt say, but they would know if it fit, or what would fit as it would all have been assessed historically.
  16. the carriages would be a regional or national stock, attributed to the sets nationally or regionally, in theory, if the had agreement to increase carriages, they would have to source them from the regional/national carriage stock, so it depends if they run with spare capacity, or would need to reduce in one place, to increase in others, depends on how they work. The train and the carriages are the train company, so they would know if they could do it or not, or with lead time, they might be able to plan for it in X months. timetables and plans are generally planned a year or so out, so it might take some lead time to agree it, but in theory, its feasible if agreed by all parties, as long as all the safety/performance validation is done, and it passes it all etc.
  17. you would need to get the train company and Network Rail to agree to additional carriages. If additional carriages were done before its prob easier overall, but if not it would need assessing, platform length checks, capacity checks, timetable changes maybe (at least short notice), as well as sourcing the extra carriages as stock is ofc limited. there are prob other things also tbh.
