  1. if the owners really want to splash the cash, i would just build a new stadium tbh. a modern, top notch stadium, with a whole massive area outside for bars, restaurants, shops, kiosks, burger trucks, etc etc, like a self-contained Village..........Villa Village somewhere where ppl can just go and spend time and money both during the week, and match days, to really bump revenues.
  2. and the account was retweeting things like this, while he was manager there......... So Beale's own "secret" twitter account..........what a tool.
  3. yes, i think so, both loans in, and loans out, which is why us loaning a load of players out, with a loan fee, is good for our FFP balance sheet (as well as the salary savings ofc)
  4. Assuming no core players leave (which they might, or might not?), i think we critically need: Right Back Defensive Midfielder (solely due to Kamara's ACL injury - he wont be back until nov/Dec, and wont be fully fit until new year 2025, so we defo need one) I can see Digne leaving in the summer, so thats a left back we need if he does. i can see quite a few outs in the summer, if we can offload them (or we end their loans/dont try to purchase them), like Olsen, Hause, Digne, Chambers, Dendoncker, Coutinho, Zaniolo, Lenglet, Coutinho etc Anything else is just nice to have's i think, such as a forward capable of playing across the forward line, and maybe another striker, depending on what happens with Duran in the summer.
  5. the stadium was part of Everton's FFP issues. I dont know the exact scenario, but apparently there is a point during the building where you can remove it from the FFP figures, but the build and approvals etc need to get to a certain point to allow this, until then it comes directly from FFP, or something!? Maybe someone else can give specifics, but im sure i remember that Everton stadium was delayed in some way, which meant they couldnt remove it from the FFP figures as soon as they wanted, or something.
  6. cant Hermoso also play that defensive left back role? (ie: left back in back 4, coming inside to form part of the back 3 when we attack?)
  7. might be worth Toney placing a bet on it tbh.
  8. holy cow, he is like Steve Bruce and Alex Bruce, but it turns out they are actually the same person. honestly tho, thats got to be one of the top "wtf" moments in recent managerial history, absolutely next level meme worthy, im not sure how he could ever be a serious manager again after such an expose, its almost sketch worthy.

when you spend over 1 billion quid on players in 2 years, you dont have the right to say that, at all, ever.
  10. wasnt really thinking profit, just getting his wages off the books cus we arent really a club who can afford to pay our 3rd or 4th choice CB 100k p/w.
  11. i did this before, its probably wrong in some way, but helps visualise the salary savings we could achieve. Just by offloading these, thats at least 840k per week.....per week!, or nearly 44m per year, unreal tbh. obviously, we would need to then sign some players, but 3 players on 100k p/w, and another 2 on 50k p/w, is still only 400k p/w, so an overall saving of over 400k p/w.
  12. the quality in this match is something else, and i dont mean in a good way. its like Wimbledon vs Wimbledon from the 90s.
  13. well ye, maybe he is allowed to think he is, seems that a lot of that manure squad is allowed to act like they think they are prime manure, where they arent even close. i wonder if they will ever get a manager in there to sort them out, tbh tho....i hope they dont.
  14. He will go to Real. Its the football equivalent of Ferrari, people go there to tick the box, but they arent really in danger of winning anything, its just like a badge to collect.
  15. what a fraud of a player Rashford is, my lord. the classic overhyped English player who is bang average with the odd moment of magic.
  16. palace without Olise and Eze, yikes. i know Olise is out for a while, what up with Eze tho?
  17. that is exactly right, its apparently a mandatory purchase after X appearances. Whether thats X starts, or X appearances of any type, unsure.
  18. and that includes the Grealish sale doesnt?, when that drops off next season, isnt it almost certain we will need to do something like that sale again to keep spending?
  19. i have thought the same. Mings used to be a left back, so if he were the defensive left back, who came inside to form the left side of a central 3 when we are going forward, i think that could work really well if we had a top notch attacking right back. ie: NEW RB - Konsa - Pau - Mings then going forward, a back 3 of: Konsa - Pau - Mings With the RB acting like our wing back, a bit like Moreno does now on the left.
  20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=we41h5jymd0 Emilian Martinez is Unstoppable in 2024 With Aston Villa.HD (not sure why the vid wont embed)
  21. i would guess most of the money related to someone like Hwang Hee-Chan would be merchandising. He is probably the second or third (or maybe 4th), most marketable South Korean player, and only those 4 are probably marketable in any major way, for a country that has 50m+ people in it. very shrewd tbh, imagine if the English only had 4 good players, and the whole country of football fans followed one of those 4 players closely, bought merch etc, lots of cha ching. i always remember that Japanese famous player in the early 2000s (Nakata), i remember reading about it, and the clubs that paid transfer fees for him (Parma/Roma), said they made more in merch from him than they paid in transfer fees etc, and they both paid 20m+ for him, back in the early 2000s. I have said it before, Villa needs to get on the Asia/Japan/Korea player bandwagon, or try to.
  22. will be true, every minor rumour about injuries for us, always seem to be 100% right. prob lost his leg falling off a chair in the club canteen.
