  1. and that includes the Grealish sale doesnt?, when that drops off next season, isnt it almost certain we will need to do something like that sale again to keep spending?
  2. i have thought the same. Mings used to be a left back, so if he were the defensive left back, who came inside to form the left side of a central 3 when we are going forward, i think that could work really well if we had a top notch attacking right back. ie: NEW RB - Konsa - Pau - Mings then going forward, a back 3 of: Konsa - Pau - Mings With the RB acting like our wing back, a bit like Moreno does now on the left.
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=we41h5jymd0 Emilian Martinez is Unstoppable in 2024 With Aston Villa.HD (not sure why the vid wont embed)
  4. i would guess most of the money related to someone like Hwang Hee-Chan would be merchandising. He is probably the second or third (or maybe 4th), most marketable South Korean player, and only those 4 are probably marketable in any major way, for a country that has 50m+ people in it. very shrewd tbh, imagine if the English only had 4 good players, and the whole country of football fans followed one of those 4 players closely, bought merch etc, lots of cha ching. i always remember that Japanese famous player in the early 2000s (Nakata), i remember reading about it, and the clubs that paid transfer fees for him (Parma/Roma), said they made more in merch from him than they paid in transfer fees etc, and they both paid 20m+ for him, back in the early 2000s. I have said it before, Villa needs to get on the Asia/Japan/Korea player bandwagon, or try to.
  5. will be true, every minor rumour about injuries for us, always seem to be 100% right. prob lost his leg falling off a chair in the club canteen.
  6. tbh, if we really wanted to get to the next level financially, its probably required, unfortunately.
  7. amazing that Spurs' salaries to revenue figure is in the mid 30%'s, where as ours is 70%+. Shows the difference in revenue, their stadium makes them an absolute packet.
  8. unyet Sheff Utd got a point off us....
  9. ye i was gonna say this. Holgate is s**t.
  10. he wouldnt be with us if he was such a well rounded player, tbh.

    Unai Emery

Possibly, but we would need to maintain 1.75 PPG or above, consistently until the end of the season. Dont want to put a damper on it, fingers crossed and all, but our last 8 PL games, we have averaged 1.4 PPG. If we do want a top 4 spot, we need to get back to our early season form, not what we have been doing in the last 8 games.
  12. Ye suso i think. Engels was a smith signing.
  13. and we signed Wesley, Nakamba and Samatta.......for a combined 40m. I reckon our Belgian scout was blind lol.
  14. i could do that for 150m, count me in.
  15. it was Hume, their right back, i think.

  18. doesnt have much luck with injury at all does he. very prone to it for a young lad.
  19. how that penalty was not given i dont know. the level of incompetence of referring is unreal.
  20. I would play Pau and Lenglet, 2 left footed CBs, before i went anywhere near chambers tbh.
  21. i was just trying to assess it without getting emotional, everyone else is doing that just fine, i was looking at both sides from a contract/policies perspective. If the letter is true, heads deserve to roll, but its also unfair to take such a letter entirely on face value and assume every word is true, until its fully investigated and the facts are established.
  22. While is see you point, and im sure many companies have many different variations on their contracts and policies etc, whistleblowing is "usually" written in to a contract or company policies to be undertaken in a certain way, which is usually an anonymous speak out line, or a HR process to raise concerns anonymously and investigations to be actioned outside of the management structure the employee is involved in. If i was looking at this with a level head and not my Aston Villa hat on, this may be whistleblowing in some form, but it is also bringing Aston Villa in to disrepute, and this wouldnt be the approved methodology of whistleblowing. im not for, against, or questioning their right to whistleblow, im just discussing the cold semantics of it.
  23. How is England's number 1 striker doing in the Scottish PL?
  24. Without assuming the validity of the notes, or Heck's alleged actions, just looking at the misconduct scenario you mentioned, employment law etc. you could also say whoever wrote that letter and leaked it, is also bringing Aston Villa (the company) in to disrepute. Bringing a company in to disrepute is written in to many employees contracts, and the outcome is (from my experience), usually also gross misconduct.
