i would like to know where Emery actually said this, so many times on these twitter accounts Emery (and others) are quoted without any links/idea of the source of it. Not saying he didnt say it, but any old hack can post X saying Y said it, if they dont provide the source.

Genuine question, what do we think we have got off the books wage wise in Jan so far? guess.... Ings - 125k Bednarek - 50k? Guilbert - 40k? Sanson - 25k? (half of wages or something?) so maybe something in the region of 250k p/w?

Davis has a lot of strengths, he is strong, fairly quick, has fairly good feet, decent at hold up play etc. However, lets not fool ourselves, he is a 24 year old, hugely injury prone striker, who doesnt score that much, playing in the championship for a good reason.... If you think Davis is the answer to any of our problems, i'm not sure what to say to you.

I swear I heard a clip of marsch in his pre match talking about date night. Something about you should plan a date night and bring your partner to the game as a pre amble to "date night". This guy is certifiable. He is so American it's comical.

so if you add the 40m for Gordon, Newcastle have a net spend of: 22/23 - 177m 21/22 - 131m 20/21 - 40m so 348m net. thats compared to ours of: 22/23 - 44m 21/22 - 3m 20/21 - 98m thats 145m. yikes.

Will be interesting to see if/who we bring in, ie: do we go with what we have for now and just do our best, keeping our cash and powder dry for the summer, or try to do something more in Jan. Looking at the squad, we arent quite as short in certain area's as i thought, especially as we only have PL games for the rest of the season, but ofc if we really want to push on, we will have to improve some area's at some point. This assumes Augustinsson & Nakamba will go, which doesn't seem a certainty at the moment? The below is assuming Emery's base 442, for example, i know Ramsey & McGinn can play MC, but in the Emery system i dont think Ramsey or McGinn are "Emery type central midfielders", if that makes sense, so i reflected that below. Green = natural position. Yellow = capable in position.

the prob with ASM isnt his talent, he is electric going fwd, but he's lazy af..... I think there is reason howe uses him as a super sub and doesnt start him, he doesnt work hard enough for how howe now has newcastle playing.
