  1. All from a free kick that shouldn’t have been awarded.
  2. Even if they’re not fully match fit? What if Pau got turned and United score? Would people then be complaining that he shouldn’t have started if not ready. Do you think that Emery doesn’t believe you should start his best players?
  3. It was pretty obvious we’d see the same team as midweek (JJ 4 YT aside), Emery said that he’d purposely left them out there against Chelsea to give them some time together to become better acquainted. We don’t have many other options and I guess Unai is hoping that the back four can improve with time together on the pitch. With no other options, it’s hard to fault him.
  4. No, sorry mate, have you not been listening? We’ve already lost, it’s too late, we did everything we could.
  5. QPR also leading at home to Norwich, great news for the bloser’s big relegation flush.
  6. We have to believe we can turn it around, Emery will and I expect the players will but the longer we go without playing well and winning the more it becomes a mental issue. But let’s not forget we smacked Sheff U for 5 in the last league game, we’re not a terrible team all of a sudden.
  7. Up The Owls! Be a massive win if they can keep it up. Especially if QPR win tomorrow, playing Norwich at home and they’ve picked some points up recently.
  8. Torres doesn’t kick balls in anger. He caresses them in style. Agree with your overall point though I’d be very surprised to see him straight back in from the cold.
  9. We’re not carrying him. It’s vital that he gets some game time to recover his fitness and form. It’s not like he’s playing 90 every game and stinking the place out.
  10. Wow, this actually happened?! The world has GOT to take the league seriously now! FFS
  11. Had a Quick Look at the teams. Mitrovic, Neves, Koulibaly, Milinkovic-Savic all play for Al-Hilal along with a load of Arabic names I’ve never heard of and two very out of place names in Michael and Malcolm who both started for Al-Hilal The other team features C Ronaldo, Laporte, Sadio Mane!, and Telles. Ronaldo’s team lost, ha! They should have selected some Dave’s and Colin’s.
  12. Same here, I’m pretty despondent about England nowadays. I can get up for the World Cup, but this Nations League crap…
  13. I understand the doom and gloom after two home defeats in a row, but it’s not that long ago we beat Man City and Arsenal at home. Let’s not forget that. Even with injuries we still have the potential to beat Man United, it’s not a given that they’ll just win. I’m expecting a reaction this weekend, we need a big performance and I think we’ll get one.
  14. Maybe so, but at least we didn’t photograph the disgusting act and make it our profile pic on here, unlike someone….
  15. Emery is a victim of his own success with some fans, we’ve improved so well and so quickly that all the talk of being in a title race has left people feeling like it’s a failure if we don’t finish top four. I’ll be more than happy even if we finish sixth this season, it’s incremental progression over last season and European football again. We were never going to win every game and the difference between starting well and finishing not so well versus starting poorly and finishing strongly, leads to a huge difference in reaction despite the end result being the same. It’s going to be a fight to the end and Emery has earned our trust to get us there. His 2ppg includes our rough patches, so let’s hope our returning players help us refind our form.
  16. Chelsea played out of their skins, that’s their best performance of the season and will give them a huge boost going into the remainder of the season. They were faster, stronger, sharper than us in every department. Seeing our players get brushed off the ball and ran through time after time was hard to watch. It was like we were playing within a shell, but I think that’s due to Chelsea pressing hell out of us and closing off the passing lanes into midfield. The lack of movement to find space was an issue though, no real excuse for that. We really miss our strongest settled defence. Konsa, Pau and Digne would all be starting if fit, and we’re all key to our brilliant run. Carlos and Lenglet aren’t leaders, and don’t have the defensive or offensive quality of Konsa and Torres. I thought Watkins played well especially given the lack of supply, and it was good to see Diaby score. There’s work to do if we are to stay in the top five, let’s hope we can turn the form around and get some of these players back soon.
