  1. He has 6G 5A in 11 games exclusively in Europe last season (Qualifying and Group Stages). So a goal or an assist per game. Watkins has 26G 3A in 46 games in the championship. It's hard to blame Edouard's huge goal/assist output on being in the SPL as he's doing it in Europe also, which is a better standard than Championship.
  2. Would be very disappointed if he signs. I get he'd be good backup but no way he'd be signing for 18m as a back up (he'll be back up to Wes within a few months). I like his work rate but the key for me is look at his goals and where he puts his shots. 80% of them would get saved in the Prem, the standard of keeping is much better. I'd be snapping Celtics hand off for Edouard. Yes it's a worse league but you can tell from watching him he's a much more natural finisher, 2 years younger and think he's got what it takes to be successful in the Prem. Only would be happy if Watkins was brought in to play off the wing, Dean made that clear last night he see's him as a striker so this wouldn't happen. And I'm not just saying this because he had a bad game yesterday, would happily take Benrahma.
  3. I'm fairly new to VillaTalk but is this like an on going joke? Villareport are not a "source", they just post what other Journo's have said and quote them in the tweet. They are 100% reliable in reporting what other news sources have said.
  4. Hope it'll be Ings. Would have to be on loan I imagine.
  5. Does anyone know if the Friendly in Austria tomorrow will be live on AVTV ?
  6. The groundsmen won groundsmen of the year...
  7. Did he say anything other than that it's close ?
  8. Apparently selling his private Jet. Is it happening ?
  9. Lets try and get as many fans down to support the U21's tonight. Only £2 and a decent crowd expected. Good chance to see some of our best youth players (Grealish, Adama, Green etc) and will without a doubt be better than watching the first team at the moment http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villas-future-you-part-11142177?utm_content=bufferefe5a&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
  10. I think the reason Ayew and Veretout are not playing is because they are shoe ins to start on a normal day. Better to give a chance to the players he's unsure on rather than the players first on the team sheet.
  11. I give up on Sinclair what a waste of a player.
  12. Guzan Hutton - Richards - Clark - Amavi Sanchez Gil - Gana - Veretout - Ayew Gestede I think i'd go with this. Ayew was unplayable at times cutting inside against tottenham and I think he is surprisingly effective at winning the ball as well as his superb work-rate. Also I think Gestede could possibly cause Stones and Mori real problems in the air where they are both not very strong in that department. However for the first time in a long time I feel confident that whoever the manager picks will be the best team to go there and hopefully (with a bit of luck) get a good result.
  13. i hope grade can get the best out of him, all he needs is a lot of instruction which i think remi can give him. With proper coaching he could be devastating for other teams.
  14. I think he could go with this although I think he'll probably stick with Hutton at RB,
  15. Would there be a chance Cissokho could be recalled before the end of the season or not ?
  16. The only thing I can ask for for Sunday's game is Remi to put out a strong line-up including Gil, Ayew, Amavi and Gueye. At least it would show he's identified our strongest players which is clearly something Sherwood struggled with.
  17. Stekelenburg 03 Yoshida 26 Caulker 17 van Dijk 33 Targett 16 Ward-Prowse 12 Wanyama 23 Ramírez (Davis - 68' ) 20 Juanmi (Tadic - 69' ) 14 Romeu 19 Pellè people saying southampton played a weakened team. I feel they had at least 7 starters tonight. Compare that with who we'd consider our best XI. Guzan, Hutton, Clark and Amavi (playing out of position) maybe one of agbonlahor or gestede at a push but I don't feel we put out a "stronger" team at all, infact I think we put out a weaker team (probably at the request of Fox/Almstadt/Garde?). Even though second half was poor I thought we looked a lot better organised and there is a glimmer of hope that if the right man comes in, we could start competing a lot better. I may be a little hopeful but oh well.
  18. I can understand why people don't like Stan, but you can't knock his passion for the club, something that our current board lack...
  19. Sky Sports News HQ tweeted 20 minutes ago " BREAKING: Garde wants @OL coach Gerald Baticle as his assistant by Lyon refuse to let him speak to @AVFCOfficial. #SSNHQ" then deleted it 5 minutes later. Strange?
