Really hoping we pull this off. Sounds like we are in for him but need to convince him of the project. This is type of signing that will help us progress, he's much less of a risk than Benrahma and is the type of signing that would encourage Grealish to stay. Hoping the information @AvfcRigo82 has been told is that he is convinced by us, as I fear this will be the biggest stumbling block, fee and wages won't be a problem for us. This is the type of signing I'd be happy to overpay, cos we wouldn't be getting a player of that quality any other way.

Whilst I agree £20mill is not a huge amount of money for a player these days, doesn't mean Wilson is worth even near that. Yes he can take set pieces, but 0 assists in 31 prem games is not good enough, and certainly not worth the £20mill they are probably demanding. being a Welsh international doesn't really mean anything other than you're an international player so I don't think that pushes the price up. Would be a good signing at £10m-£12m but that's just not gonna happen is it?

Also the fact we had to buy a whole new squad last year as oppose to this year where we've got the same budget this year on 4/5 signings. Should be doing better than Wilson for 15mill (max anyone should pay for him). Probably more this reason

Maybe I made it sound crazy but I don't think it is. "Agent releases story to press" we all know this happens in football all the time. Nakamba has posted a throwback picture with him, which the timing suggests it very unlikely to be a "random coincidence". So he's either done it because he's coming to us or he's not. Then his story is just him playing games, ie. he knows people are gonna see it and start spreading rumours he's at an airport etc. I don't think this is completely out the question that Leipzig know of our apparent "interest" that has built up over the last week and if they want him have to pay what Bremen want. I don't think this is too ludicrous.

The longer this has gone on, the more it seems like he'll end up at Leipzig. The Kosovan Journo saying Villa in advanced talks, the plane emoji hiding his Werder kit (kind of), even asking his mate Nakamba to post a throwback pic of the two. It all seems like games to try and force Leipzig to meet Bremen's demand. Massive shame if we miss out, but I think maybe he was never a realistic signing.
