I have read through it and it seems they rate him highly just can't believe they are getting that money and originally posted €33m is actually €25m + add ons. They also say he would be perfect for the prem and are ecstatic he's not going to Leipzig. Seems positive for all parties. Hope we get this one over the line.

Since lockdown, we all agree Douglas Luiz was our best player. We went from the worst shots conceded per 90 to the 4th best in the league. Now whilst I don't think our defence is as horrendous as some people think, he had a massive impact on our improvement in that area (In my opinion). A lot of people see how technical he is and think he needs to move up the pitch but for me, this is what makes him perfect for this position. He's the perfect number 6 for us and will only get better. Would be madness to take him out of that role. I'd be confident going into the new season with that same back 4 and Douglas sitting in front. Further up the pitch is where we should (and I think we are) focusing on improving.

You would be surprised. Like last year, our owners are committed to pumping in money with the ultimate goal of closing the gap on the top 6. The 100m, whilst is probably a rough guess from Journos, is exclusive of selling anyone. The hope/belief at this stage is we won't be selling anyone. If we were to sell Grealish for the quoted 80mill, we'd need to spend a lot more than 100m to have even a glimmer of hope of staying up. That's how important he is to us.

Couldn't have put it better myself. One thing I would like is ignore CDM as Luiz has proven he's a stud there and focus more on someone who can offer what Hourihane does, which is a technical set piece specialist.

Worried about this one, hopefully get proved wrong. 95% of his goals from last season just wouldn't happen in the prem due to much better goalkeeping and poor defending. The difference between him and Maupay is Maupay hits the corner of the goal majority of the time, even when watching his championship highlights. Think Watkins could work on the wing but Dean has already stated he prefers him through the middle.

True! I'd go Bale (30mill & 400k a week wages), Thiago (30mill & 200k a week wages), Ramsey (10mill & 400k a week wages), Ozil (10mill and 350K a week wages). Total Spend: 80mill which leaves us 20mill spare to pay Brentford to take Hogan, Jota and Lansbury off our hands.

Why not go in for Sancho? £100mill is a lot of money but would hold his value at 20 years old and can play on either wing, would be a real asset going forward. I think he'd make the step up to the prem easily so low risk

Same price maybe but if Watkins is £25mill and Wilson is £10mill + Hogan or just £15mill I'd go Wilson everyday of the week. Could enable us to sign someone else and guarantees goals in this league

I agree with most of that. I do think he plays better in our team out wide. Although I think he has the work rate & tackling ability to play in that Hourihane role and could be just as good there. Preferably though I'd be getting a CM to replace Hourihane, but has to be a set piece specialist as Hourihane is realistically the only set piece taker we have. I would also want Villa to get away from relying on Grealish, as we are currently 1 injury/him leaving away from relegation.

Sorry I meant play him where we have payed him in that 3 man midfield all of last championship year and all of last year up until realising our wingers are hopeless. I'm inclined to agree with you and think he does play better out wide. Cannot be going in for a left winger then, Benrahma is not a RW and we need to stop signing players to move them onto their less natural side. Buendia seems to make much more sense in that case

Never understand this opinion when he plays in the same position as Benrahma. I'd assume the idea, exactly the same as if we got Benrahma, would be to play Grealish at behind the strikers.

Was from actual news sources in Spain so I imagine pretty legit (not Agent Villa or the other "ex journalists with fingers in all the pies"). Not to buy though, was a loan. Real Madrid want to send him out on loan in Spain unfortunately. Looks a quality player, unfortunately.

We could say the same about Jota though I'd certainly hope he wouldn't take as long as Konsa to settle in, else we'd be in big trouble next season.
