    Unai Emery

Na, Real Madrid maybe, Manure are in a mess and Liverpool aren't far behind. He's 18 months into a 5 year project and next season we will be better than both of them. Our owners will match our on field success with off field investments and growth. The Villa of old has gone and there's a new one on its way.
  2. Got a feeling they are in for a right shock once the season ends, few big announcements incoming with the recent organisational changes. Should get us some air time.
  3. One of em said they seen him play against Arsenal and they wasn't impressed, they must have some great players there. I think it helps that he's a local lad, he has a full support network around him and will be settled from the off. Emery as eluded to this in some of he comments on other players having to adapt to a new country and league.

"Garlic bread" is no longer the future.
  5. Yea I agree, been going to villa park for nearly 40 years and the memories it holds of games, teams, goals, friends and family are ones I will cherish for the rest of my life. Standing in the old holte end when we scored was an unbelievable experience, sadly that's long gone. There's the build up as well, walking from the pub , club train etc all part of a routine that's hard to let go ........but its getting a bit long in the tooth, trudging past run down scrapyards and empty shops, pubs , wastelands of mud. I will miss it but for villa to prosper, when I'm long gone, it has to change.

Jesus what a mess their making for the future. If they don't get results, revenue will drop. If players get injured long term, they have to pay extended contracts out and they won't have any money without selling players. The owners a complete clown.
  7. The women can play at Villa Park and the youth teams. Wouldn't mind a game there myself tbh if I could get 21 others, can you imagine your dream of scoring at the holte end coming true..
  8. Seasons not over yet, Diaby will make a difference.

    Arsenal

Jesus 2 points behind with 6 games left and they have given in, I can remember SAF pulling keegan apart, Newcastle bottling it and manure winning the league, think Newcastle were 12 points ahead at Xmas. They can still win the league, just beat the teams in front of em and let City try and do the same. For me it's a 2 horse race. I think LPool have gone, finished. One things for sure none of them will win all their games. I can see Spurs beating City for starters.
  10. I reckon if he hadn't scored it would have been a penalty for the tackle on Torres, bet VAR was happy they didn't have to call that one.
  11. It will change once one of the leading pundits starts to take notice the rest will follow, just need to finish the season giving our best shot. Still not over by a long way as we all know anyone can beat anyone in this fantastic league (despite manky City cheating)
  12. Newcastle are just a good team, like us and spurs. Arsenal, Liverpool and cheaty are slightly better at the moment. We don't and won't get decent press coverage until we have achieved and it looks like we are very close to it, Atairo will help us with our profile as well, they are closely connected to marketing.
  13. The media, in the UK, is so behind the game. I like having some old players on there but there should be some experts who can analyse the game, even an ex ref who can comment on decisions made. What we are getting is a sterilisation of football by producers, editors and directors who haven't got a clue. Watching that AFTV YouTube stream and their fans hosting it have more of an insight into the game and a more balanced view, its staggering tbh. The games huge and all we're getting is spoon fed drivel that has no value to game at all. And that includes the written media as well. The Guardian match report praised the Arsenal fans for staying until the end! What was they watching? ( I have no opinion on it tbh, I left the Villa v Arsenal final at 4-0 down early, I walked out with hundreds of fans, half of them Arsenal fans )
  14. Even the Arsenal fans can't believe some of the decisions that the ref made, here's their reaction to Arsenal getting the ball after the ball hit one of their players heads and we ended up with possession. The ref giving the ball to them, about 45 minutes into the game (can't post to the exam time) https://www.youtube.com/live/E5fhPtxrYdo?si=pQdDxxv3KKf8P5xl
  15. Pep wearing a £1.1 million pound watch, bet he's paid for that himself! Their a blot on the landscape of the premier league and I would rather SHA win the league fairly than these sneaking about, with hidden payments , inflated deals and other such bollox. It's a travesty against all football fans in the UK and its leaking into Europe as well, disgusting tbh.
  16. Great game for him, grew into it and gave White, who's a good player, a hard time. Very difficult for him to stay if he's not happy with his domestic live, its a major part of a players performance and if its not there then long term it won't work. What I will say is that this experience for him, being at Villa with Emery, will give him a major boost in confidence and his career, the premier league builds character, there's no place to hide for 90+ minutes and that will raise his game considerably.
  17. Pulled back by his shirt for a one on one by Gabriel, that's the difference a shit ref can make .
  18. They have broke the rules that Everton, Forest and Sheffield have been punished for, the only thing that's incredible is how they have got away with it. In 10 years time the whole lot will be exposed and they will be seen as cheats.
  19. SAF seen it coming when we got well beat at Newcastle, its amazing how there's certain people who can see stuff in games and teams and other just see the score...or XG.
  20. Growing game by game, we are watching him grow into a world class player, bang on time, unbelievable.
