  1. I'm not sure we've got any more money to spend anyway. Liverpool only paid & £16m upfront for Benteke, we've easily spent that already.
  2. Not sure I really rate him anyway I suspect he is a bit over rated because of his time at Barca, though pretty hard to judge a Barcelona keeper either way. However good they are I don't particularly want someone who refuses to play for a reserves/u21 side who ever it is for, especially if they were never first choice, rotten attitude!
  3. Despite a few reservations and that I've not got any good mates who are Spurs fans but I'd still get a massive sense of satisfaction if we had a successful season with Sherwood in charge and Adebayor banging them in.
  4. Great minds. Thirded. Pretty good side for Grealish, Gil to fight their way back in to with I imagine another couple of signings on the horizon. I would be very pleased to see this as the starting lineup for our premier game. Let's dust Bournemouth! As it stands and presuming everyone is fit, I think that's nailed it, with Grealish/Gil in contention of the Ayew/Sinclair spots. The exiting thing is that can completely alter the way we play. It's nice to have some effective looking options.
  5. Quite the opposite. Any attacker can thrive in the Eredivisie, Jozy Altidore proved as much. And Guidetti Even Dirk Kuyt was prolific for Feyenoord
  6. Jonathan Wilson knows his shit. Unfortunately, if there's anybody who is likely to have a very informed opinion of african players, it's him. The bit about being offside all the time is like a pub conversation rather than a serious article. If he thought it felt like much more than 0.7 times a game, wonder what he thought of Benteke's 1.2 and god knows what Angel's would have been if stats were such a big thing then.
  7. I'm hoping for 13th or above. Going by recent seasons anything below that, there is a relegation threat to a certain extent for a lot of the season, which would be nice to not have at all for once. The reality is it could be anywhere between 7th-18th but I'm high on optimism and I'm going to go with 9th. Think I've covered enough bases there
  8. I wonder If the optimism and potential of the new look side becomes a reality, whether Lerner himself (not my opinion) will feel the years of austerity will have been success and justified.
  9. I'll let him off for that Swansea game, he was selfish and was trying too hard but was taking quite a lot of stick from Swansea fans so was desperate to shove it back. It ultimately cost us the game but as a one off I'm ok with it. I imagine he may of had a bollocking after and should learn from it.
  10. Would take this all day long. Would be very sensible for all parties. I wouldn't be surprised to see him again, I guess squad numbers would a be a key indicator of how likely if we don't take up all 25 when we put them in.
  11. Players at his point in his career don't tend to go on loan though, unless it's because they aren't wanted and struggling to be sold. Even with the signings I'd like to think he still has a part to play this season.
  12. I did see that on Twitter earlier but it would surprise me. Zlatan had a lot of good things to say of Mellberg when he retired so maybe Olof has said there is one thing he needs to do before he can be happy with his career
  13. Slight off topic but Leicester seem to be trying to throw a lot of money about but not sign anyone. Either no one wants to go to them, it's the classic make it look like you're trying to spend money but have no intention really or they are just inept. Unless they do sign players I fully expect them to struggle. Which is always good to know if Le Plan A doesn't work (optimistic it will though)
  14. le source? Béchamel? Really should be Beurre Blanc if it's straight from Nantes
  15. Is there still panic? I think this one is going to go through fine, probably today and doubt there was any real risk Leicester of getting ahead of us.
  16. And Jordan Lyden to make a break through to the first team.
  17. What's Harry Redknapp got to do with it?
  18. Pretty unlikely but perhaps Sherwood knew the only possibility that we were going to stand any chance of shifting him at the end of the season was to give him some game time and hope he'd have some motivation to show what he can do himself. As I say, unlikely and also pretty high risk but it is also very unlikely we'd be able to sell him at all if he was bombed out (if it's not still anyway)
  19. Really hoping this is true and cynically thinking we're not being used to flush out other interest. Nantes have sort of been a second team for me since going on holiday in southern Brittany & the west coast of France from the early 90's. With plenty of highs and lows following them. I'd be worried about them next season as they severely lack goals up front and he was a big part of the goals that were scored. Hopefully we get him and they spend the money well. He is exactly the sort of style player we needed to add in midfield, so hopefully it's great news. Edited just too add if we do get him hopefully he is a lot more successful than the 2 former Nantes midfielders that we've had in Berson & Djemba Djemba.
  20. Yes or maybe not Or maybe yes LOL Maybe he just went for some decent paella? Nah, wrong area of Spain for a proper paella
  21. Cut off is 1st Jan the year the season starts. I don't know whether this means it's ok to be 21 on 01/01/15 or whether you have to be 20 or under.
  22. I see West Brom's deal has gone the same way.
