  1. Mathematically, today doesn't make that much difference - although the damage the goal difference is a huge blow, and potentially raises the points target by one. The reality though, is that the players made clear today that they've stopped trying. They didn't run when tracking back. They bottled out of 50/50 challenges. They didn't shout at each other or try to motivate each other. Nobody took a player on or tried to make anything happen, apart from one Gil run at the start of the second half. They passed the blame, they jogged when they should have run and walked when they should have jogged, they bottled it all day. And in the end, one of them went on Twitter and posted a picture of his new car. They've accepted relegation, and since they're the only ones who could do anything about it, there will be no great escape.
  2. I'd love nothing more than someone buying us. To be honest, going down and staying down is probably the most likely way we get sold, for a pittance and after some miserable seasons.
  3. The economic crisis in China is worse this year than it was last year.
  4. He had a pass completion percentage of less than 75% today, which was pretty poor (though far from the worst). He does give it away a lot. In all honesty, maybe people are right - he probably was our least shit player. But I'm very resistant to the idea of praising anybody, even in such lesser-evil terms as those, after such a heavy home defeat. I stand by the comment that he was shit, just less so than others.
  5. That's fair, I wish the boos had been spread wider across the team. Bacuna certainly wasn't the only shit player.
  6. The answer to that is that he shouldn't be starting the next match, or indeed many future matches until he shows significant improvement. He's been terrible lately.
  7. But it's not about 'helping' them. Fans are intelligent enough to realise that when you're 3-0 down and looking appalling, you're not going to come back. The team was way way way beyond the point at which fans could help them. It just became about registering disapproval. Which was entirely warranted.
  8. Jamie Carragher was entirely correct in his negative assessments of us today, it still pissed me off hearing him say it anyway.
  9. When your team loses 6-0 at home, you're entitled to boo whoever the hell you want.
  10. Use him as the real bench. Seven men sitting on him might toughen him up a bit.
  11. Indeed, it's not like being invaded or something. The way some people on this forum go on you'd think life itself was coming to an end.
  12. What can I tell you? Human beings don't approach things totally logically and dispassionately.
  13. That might be because you're the most negative poster on the forum, to be fair. EDIT: Maybe 'negative' has unpleasant connotations. I take that back. 'Pessimistic' then.
  14. I don't base my analysis on a **** YouTube video, wind your neck in.
  15. Ronnie Pickering couldn't more transparently have LOVED every minute of his fifteen if he'd tried.
  16. Yes, absolutely I think that. You don't think they would regard getting to first place only to lose all of the last twelve games of the season as a failure? Your belief that people don't revise their expectations in the face of evidence is nonsensical. At the start of the season, I 'expected' Villa to finish circa 14th, to show some improvement on last season. Now I think finishing last but on at least 25 points would be a triumph of sorts. Why is the yardstick set in mid-August last year the only one that matters?
  17. Couldn't handle the heights of 20th in the Premier League.
  18. It was Question Time, of course it was, it always is. Though I agree with the rest of your post.
  19. That sounds like the most plausible explanation.
  20. Leicester need to lose quite a few matches to meet their pre-season target of 17th.
  21. Why do people come up with these fake tweets? What's the point of it?
