  1. Why are we so unbelievably shit at offering contracts to players, and protecting our investments? It's like we're not even trying.
  2. Do you use tongues when you kiss your Mum? That's certainly what he's accused of (and more, but re: kissing).
  3. I'm not a fan of the whole 'Europeans mocking Americans' genre of political one-upmanship, so consider this an expression of horror rather than hilarity, and I will note that I found it here (http://gawker.com/meet-the-science-and-muslim-hating-conspiracy-theorist-1758545449), an American website. This is Mary Lou Bruner: She's campaigning for the Texas State Board of Education, you know, approving schoolbooks and unimportant shit like what kids get taught at school. She likes to post on Facebook to tell people her opinions: On Dinosaurs 'When the flood waters subsided and rushed to the oceans there was no vegetation on the earth because the earth had been covered with water. It took a while for grass and trees to grow back and the big plant-eating dinosaurs needed lots of vegetation to live. The dinosaurs on the ark may have been babies and not able to reproduce. It might make sense to take the small dinosaurs onto the ark instead of the ones bigger than a bus. After the flood, the few remaining Behemoths and Leviathans may have become extinct because there was not enough vegetation on earth for them to survive to reproductive age. Most of the dinosaur fossils which scientists have found are permanently preserved in positions of great distress as if they were trying to keep their heads above water or above the mud.' On School Shootings ... The school shootings started after government removed the Ten Commandments and the Bible from public school buildings, and disallowed prayer at school and school events. The school shootings started after the schools started teaching evolution is an absolute fact and the classes cannot talk about weaknesses in the Theory of Evolution. The shootings started after the schools started teaching the Constitution of the USA is a flawed document written by selfish aristocrats who were only looking out for their own wealth, The school shootings started after the government started teaching children to feel sorry for themselves if they do not have as much as other children in the school.... On 'The Muslims' 'The Muslims use our own First Amendment against us. Islam is not a religion. Islam is an inhumane totalitarian political ideology with radical religious rules and laws and barbaric punishments for breaking the religious rules. If Islam is a religion it is a cult religion. A group that forces people to join or die is not a real religion. A group that kills people who try to leave the group is not a real religion. A group that disfigures, dismembers, or mutilates bodies as punishment is not a real religion. A group that practices child sexual abuse or forced marriages of small girls to adult men is not a real religion. The USA should ban Islam and stop all immigration. from Muslim countries because Islam’s stated goal is to conquer the USA and kill the infidels (nonbelievers).' Mary Lou Bruner is not an outsider candidate. She's been endorsed by the former chairman of the State Board of Education, amongst others. Good luck, Texas
  4. Five – no, six – PL players disliked by their own fans Scott Sinclair – Aston Villa When Aston Villa supporters vociferously accused the club’s players of not trying following the FA Cup draw with Wycombe, Sinclair was the person who immediately sprang to mind. The winger had touched the ball 22 times in 71 minutes, and was substituted to an angry response from the away end. The accusation is that Sinclair is a coaster, happy to try on the field but hardly weighed down by relegation fears. He will simply up sticks and move on to another middling-to-low Premier League club, you see. At some point clubs will refuse to pay the £40,000 weekly wages. http://www.football365.com/news/five-pl-players-disliked-by-their-own-fans Something like that, yeah.
  5. Actually only done it once myself, flew Hanoi to Ottawa via Taipei and Vancouver . . . looooooooong journey that was! I can remember one of the films I watched, it was called 'Sweetwater'. It was about these American guys in one of 'Big Sky' states herding sheep over many many miles of mountains. Oddly, it was brilliant. EDIT: 'Sweetgrass', not 'Sweetwater'.
  6. I disagree with the '10 leaving' part but the rest is true. I would anticipate we'll be using a lot of the loan players returning who now have Championship experience, ie Baker, Gardner, Steer etc.
  7. Not hard, all you've got to do is look out the window.
  8. bluster bluster the people we have negotiating it are idiots bluster bluster i'll bring in smart people, like me bluster bluster *waves hands at distracting comment* bluster bluster racist comment about mexican people bluster bluster they stopped me saying what I wanted because of PC bluster bluster PC is why I didn't build the wall sadface now my presidential term is over and I achieved nothing except increase my fortune trolled you goodbye!
  9. Yeah, it certainly sounds like they couldn't have picked a line-up more calculated to disengage you! I'm with you on Chris Evans, I've never really 'got it' with him either. I was a bit too young for TFI Friday/Don't Forget Your Toothbrush/Big Breakfast etc and could never really see why he was so beloved. I watched the remake of TFI Friday a few weeks ago and it was so '90's it hurt. The chap on the end who looks like Okore is a member of Joe Public - a literal 'competition winner' who produced the best 30-second video, submitted to the show. Here's a video - not the same one - of him rapping a review of a car:
  10. Well, I think it's a given that hardcore fans of the particular three departed presenters aren't going to be interested in this show, at least compared to their new show. There's absolutely nothing the BBC could have done about that. Beyond that, you're left with arguing that there shouldn't be a primetime motoring show on the BBC. Which I don't think is an argument many people want to make.
  11. The obvious difference is intent. EDIT: sorry, not 'obvious'. I'm assuming the difference is intent. I don't know the cases.
  12. Of course, it would actually be pretty useful to know which cars are easiest to transfer into from a wheelchair. Just the sort of thing a useful 'motoring magazine show' should be covering, really.
  13. We're not talking about 'criticism', we're talking about abuse, online abuse. The interaction he has with fans is mainly via his Instagram account. I don't know if you've ever encountered it, but people aren't writing carefully thought-through analyses of his performances. Calling somebody a word removed isn't 'criticism'.
  14. Which is fair, from the start of the season, because 0-0 draws still get you points. Unfortunately we're in a position where 0-0 draws don't help.
  15. For once, an article in the media that wasn't complete shit. In fact, that's a pretty good potted history.
  16. Certainly not at the Villa anyway.
  17. He's not going to have turned around 20+ point deficits in all (or even many) of those states for exactly the reason @maqroll gives above. But this is a bit pointless. Believe what you want to believe.
  18. Yes, it's some deep-down low behaviour for sure.
  19. I know it's easy to pick on her, but she isn't the guilty party here. It's not a simple situation - he's the father of her child.
  20. He's potentially looking at an 18-month custodial sentence just for what he's admitted already. Although of course he may be found guilty of being a celebrity and sentenced to a little light litter-picking instead.
